  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a question about service for my G70. I just contacted my dealer to make a vehicle service appointment and advised them that I'll require the service valet. I was told that the earliest appointment available would be in 5 weeks. Is this typical. I've owned adilacs

I've owner other luxury brands an required loaners, but have never had to wait this long. This came as a surprise to me. Is a 5 week wait for service with valet the norm for Genesis?

Seems the pandemic made it a bit worse but some dealers have had long waits. One reason is the lack of cars for loaners. There has been a shortage of many brands, even adilacs the past year.

If you can, for a standard oil change, tire rotation, probably easier to go and wait about 60 to 90 minutes.

Thanks for the reply. Ufortunately, I need more than just routine maintenance, so the 5 week wait seems to be my best recourse.

I can confirm that other dealers are facing the same problem. I take my Lincoln Nautilus to a Lincoln-only dealer in the Washington, DC area. Great dealership, and I drive an extra 10 miles to go to them rather than a couple of closer Ford/Lincoln dealers. But they have long waiting lists for loaners and pick-up/drop-off service. During the pandemic people didn't drive as much as usual and put off non-urgent servicing. Now suddenly everyone wants to get off on their summer road trips. I had to wait some weeks to access that service.

my dealer was able to get me a valet within 2 weeks of scheduling. just depends on your area and the amount of dealers in the area.

for reference, my closest dealer is ~60 miles away, but there are 3 dealers within ~75 miles

with BMW, my longest wait was ~ a month

A couple of months ago, my dealer had about a three week wait for scheduled service appointments without a loaner. The dealership didn't have any cars to rent out, and most of the car rental companies were backed up about a week.

Don't know if the 5 weeks you mentioned is typical, but it took me 2 weeks to get my G70 in for an oil change & a minor warranty repair, Austin, TX area.
