  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Spectrum All-Inclusive Vehicle Leasing Program

As long as it doesn't become a fleet vehicle and f$%k up the resale value!

Any "exciting new program" that involves insurance people scares me.
Well...it's through MetLife. I know each driver has their own rates/risks...but perhaps by Genesis providing it in bulk there are some serious savings to be had.

This is the way things are going, I'm sure the dealer gets a cut for selling it. The dealership I worked at owned a full service Allstate agency. Every buyer was introduced to an agent to talk about getting a quote. There is so much less profit in new cars than there was 10-15 years ago that dealers and finance companies are having to find new ways to generate additional profit.

Normally I'm not interested in stuff like this, but the rates in the link below for both a lease and insurance are super competitive.

Genesis launches all-inclusive lease program for G70, G80, G90 - Roadshow
It doesn't look too competitive to me.
G70 starting at $489 with $2689 down.
If this is the starting price for a G70 we can asume that this is the price for the Lowest trim 2.0T Advanced RWD MSRP $35,885
How much do you think is going to cost the 3.3T Sport AWD with MSRP $52,450?

You really won't be able to tell if it is a good deal or not until you run all of the numbers in a specific scenario. My guess is there will be little difference overall with this package versus the way things are now. While the included auto insurance may or may not be competitive, your homeowners and umbrella costs will likely increase if you are unbundling auto.

That will be around $845 for a 3.3T Sport AWD (7% tax included here in S Florida w/o dealer fees)

That’s really not to bad depending on the level of insurance and the deductible.

I pay $857 for my lease and insurance if I add the 2 together, but I have 350/500/50 with $250 deductible.

Lease is $660/mo with taxes, insurance is $197/mo.

If the insurance is base liability most leases require at 100/300/50 with $500 deductible, then that is a decent lease/insurance rate.

Key words: "Starting at"
I imagine if you have three teenage drivers, some speeding tickets, and live in the nasty part of town it may be a few bucks higher.

seems loose on the details so far and besides bundling insurance it just seems like a typical lease.

we did the subscription for wife's new volvo xc40 and there was no down payment nor any "starts at" language. she just got approved and the advertised rate was $650 / mo. + tax, registration, etc. i believe that price has since gone up to $700 / month.

really not saving much if any by dropping her from our insurance, my favorite part of the deal was having no down payment, honestly.

What was the MSRP on the XC40?

similar to the base g70 2.0, just over $35k or so

The XC40 is a looker and not bad to drive for what it is. But I kept hearing a booming sound inside whenever we were driving on non flat surfaces or on speed bumps. Similar to when you're driving at highway speed with one window open but in shorter bursts.

I'd think these programs don't make much sense given (unless I'm mistaken) they pricing is all based on full MSRP. It removes the ability to negotiate the price of the underlying vehicle before subscribing, which means you're not likely to get as good of a deal overall, especially once you factor in the insurance variable.

i personally dont care about negotiations. give me the best price up front, give me all the details needed for comparisons, and don't waste my time. the internet provides all the tools to make an informed decision these days. when buying or leasing, i'll usually get the deal on paper and decide later that day / night at home on my own rather than on site with a salesperson anyway. the subscription option gives me that opportunity without even having to step foot on the lot before im walking in for a test drive of the car i've found online that i am prepared to buy or order that day.
