  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Living in the desert I don't have the opportunity to comment or test items such as water leaks but noticed a number of owners did apparently have this problem.

I just wanted to comment that, for the first time last night, my Genny was parked outside on a slight front-to-back incline in a four-hour very heavy downpour (similar to a car wash) and the trunk remained dry as a bone afterward.

I asked Genny's forgiveness this morning and promised it a nice car wash and detail later in the week.

I believe most of the concerns are when we open the trunk while it is wet allowing water to drain inside.

slight aside - Genesis seems to get beat up over the "water gets in my trunk when i open it". i had the same problem with a 94 Camry, a 04 Grand Prix, and a 06 Taurus. Camry was particularly awful. and yes i have that problem with the 11 Genesis, altho if you do a partial open and wait a sec most of the excess water spills off without incident.

It was still raining pretty hard when I opened the trunk lid so I didn't wait or open it slowly. But the rain gutters did their job and the inside was dry. Perhaps the others who experienced this issue had a crimped gasket or the trunk lid was not totally shut. I have noticed that I need a heavy hand to ensure the lid closes securely.
