  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone cross-shopped the Genesis against the Audi A6? What did you think? Thanks.

Audi's are built with wonderful, quality parts and materials, however Audi has not discovered the art of keeping the parts and materials together and working.

You're probably asking about vehicle attributes rather than value, but FWIW I looked at a similar mileage A6 with S/C V6 vs. my R-Spec at $20K less and the choice was easy. Audi is beautiful but didn't feel it was that good.

The up-down Nav screen on the A6 would drive one crazy. That and the monthly payment. I luvs my 3.8. It's paid for too.

The Nav screen is not a problem since the up and down will only work for a few months.

HaHaHa! Truer words have never been spoken. I have stories . . . lots of stories, and most of them include $3,000 garage floor drippings, flatbed trucks, and ignored dealer phone messages.

The Audi is a great lease or something you sell just before the warranty runs out.

Replace "Audi" with "German Car" and yep!

I will never OWN German again. I might lease it though.

the audi is like a trophy wife. she will make you feel special while you are with her, but you will pay for it. and like others have said, she can be tempermental and may leave you standing by the side of the road.

I actually traded in an A4 B7 for my Genesis... and completely agree with all the comments posted so far.

My Inside Salesman had an A4, and I used to text him a few times a week to see if I needed to pick him up from the service department on my way to work. ;) Seems that damn car was there more often than not.

He has since moved on to a Lexus IS350. Nice car, but he drools over the Genesis when they are parked next to each other. :p

a couple months ago, i drove the new A6, and was very impressed with it.
the styling inside and out were better than the genesis.
the engine is stronger with a faster 0-60.

if it was available when i was shopping for my genesis, i probably would have gotten the A6 with the 3.0 V6.

according to recent JD Power and Consumer Reports surveys, reliability is now better, probably better than the other german makes.

We just sold our 2008 A6 with 27K miles and bought our 2nd 2012 Genesis 3.8L. If you like spending time at the dealer an Audi is for you. Noisy powertrain, water leaks, electrical issues etc. Audi clearly has superior driving dynamics and prestige, but I'll take the Genesis everyday for reliability and value for the $$. You can't afford to own an out of warranty Audi.

Well said.

Audi is for those who don't mind spending $$$...lots of $$$ to the dealer service. Other than that it's an amazing car....i test drove it and loved it!

But of course i went to their forums before thinking on purchasing one and guess what i found in their forums.....go to their general tech where they post problems and they had around 8000 posts of problems. Never seen so many 0_o
