  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all, i'm new to this forum, but i didn't see a newb forum area. So first off, i wanna say hi, and i'm excited to read what i can about the genesis, etc. from you all. im considering a new car sometime soon (or maybe i should wait til the economy is better........), and a genesis is something i've been seeing a lot of.

so back to the topic at hand. i was wondering, what's the genesis have that tops other hyundai sedans? and what does it lack compared to them? i dont need anything really specific, just some general things for me to know and potentially help me make my decision.

Thanks in advance!

Basically the Hyundai Genesis has what all large luxury sedan have but is price comparably thousands less.

Hyundai's other sedans are priced as good values in their respective classes.

The Accent is a decent small car. The Elantra is a good economy car. The Sonata is a good midsize sedan. The Azera is a good large sedan.

Those four models are competent, but they're not exciting to drive. They are front wheel drive (which is fine for most purposes but not ideal for performance handling). Their suspensions are tuned for soft, comfortable highway driving. The Sonata V6 and Azera are reasonable fast in straight line acceleration. The others are acceptable but not very fast.

The Genesis is larger inside than all of them, offers far more luxury features (power rear sunshade, heated and cooled driver's seat, navigation), and has rear wheel drive and two very powerful engine options that make it very fast. The suspension is tuned so that the car is still soft and comfortable on long trips but it can handle fast driving around corners far better than the others.

It's also likely that the Genesis will have better crash safety than the others, although that is just a guess. The Sonata and Azera have good but not great crash safety. The Elantra and Accent are below average for crash safety.
