  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had posted a similar question, but it went no where. Maybe this will activate some interest. I'm pretty sure the Gennies, like most cars, have a collision cut-off switch. It's an accelerometer that senses a collision and cuts power. In some cars, a hard bump, like a high railroad track, can trip it. I'm thinking that is the reason my Gennie will just go dead in the driveway and then, come back to life after the trunk is opened and closed.

Thanks for the response but please re-read the original post. This has nothing to do with the trunk latch. The shock wave of closing the trunk is remediating the no-start condition, which suggests that a switch is being tripped.

I had a some weird electrical problems with my Genesis until I lubed the trunk latch. It won't hurt.
