  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone had any experience using the Genesis paint pen with the paint on one end and the clear coat on the other? Something came up and bit the driver side windshield pillar/post so now I have a little nick down to the paint.

If you can share any insight on using one would be much appreciated.

I have one. I had a small door ding at the edge of the driver door. The pen has paint at one end and clear coat at the other. Shake, then press the foam tip to the surface for application. The other application suggestion is have a bit of foil or other material and press the pen to drop a dab of paint and then use the plastic pointed tool that comes with the paint pen. It can be applied to scratches or places where the foam tip is too wide or where highly precise application is necessary. Color match was excellent for my Himalayan Gray. I know where the paint is but no one else would see it which is good enough for me.
There is only a small amount of paint in the pen. Dr Color Chip was recommended here though I have no experience with that.

Used it on a small scratch on sport wheel. Very good match. Genesis informed that they do not have a paint code for the sport wheels so did the next best thing. Himalayan Grey. N5M

That's good to know too... Wife was trying to be nice and got the car washed, and I think the CarWash gave the left side rims on the Sport Wheels a bit of a tiny curb burn as well. Wasn't really thinking I could rememdy that, but may give the HG a try.

My recommendation on other cars has been to fill small chips when the car is in the sun. And paint is warmer. It’s just seems to blend so much better. On some other cars I couldn’t even tell it was ever chipped. And it held up over time. Don’t over dab.

I have HG and can say this paint pen is way better than the brushes that come from other manufacturers. The color match was on point!

Where's the best place to order them from?

Check with your local dealer or Genesis Experience manager. I was given the paint pen for free, even though I expected to pay. I've heard the same from others though could be due to Canada.

Nope. I was given mine here in Arizona.

I have Black Forest Green touch-up pen on order as well. I don't need it yet, but will hopefully have it by the time I do...
Enjoy,

I ordered mine on the phone and at arrival the parts monkey said "Keep it", no charge.

When I initially requested mine, they said it would be free. When I finally got around to picking it up, they said I needed to pay for it. I then reminded them that the service director said it would be taken care of, which they ended up doing.

Anyone know where I can get Siberian ice touch up paint?

Your dealer. Pretty sure I've sold a Siberian Ice one before.

Yeah, my dealerships are totally inept. I asked the only two in the area and one said that they have no idea because they only have access to Hyundai parts catalogs but that they could get me a white one for a Hyundai that would be the closest they could find... um, no. The other told me that there arent any touchup paints available for Genesis which I know is false. These are both certified Genesis dealerships by the way.

I'll call around and see if another dealership can ship one to me. Then, I'll take it to the local dealerships to prove them wrong.
