  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now

They should've been able to get the correct card to you based on your vin.

I just asked them that specific question... and they said the VIN was NOT used to match the card, but was just record keeping on their part.

Interesting. Wouldn't have thought that to be the case, but that's what I get for thinking. Thanks for the info.

Good luck with resolving your issue too. Hopefully the new card does it for you.

All these potential issues has me nervous. My new card is on order to be here probably this week. Wish they would just update maps and POI items and leave system and software stuff alone. Guess it’s kind of like asking Microsoft or Apple to only fix bugs but not change my functionality or look of my PC or phone. Programmers got to touch everything.

Thank you sir...... it is not like there is much else to do during this emergency.......

One thing I notice when upgrading from version 07 is that brightness of the screen is higher and now going from 1-4 does not change the brightness at all. When I have it on 1 it is still kinda bright. I liked it dim at night so it does not distract my eyes. Oh well, I still love the upgrade!
I have not noticed that yet. I tot agree with you about being to bright . It sucks getting older, driving at night is a little bit harder than it was when I was younger. So I turn back screen off completely and lower the dash lights all the way down. Works good that way, especially out here in the country no street lights whatsoever.

Here is a thought... please file this under the heading "there are no stupid questions".

The map update comes in two variations an 8" touch screen or a 9.2" HD touch screen. I measured diagonally and it came to a little bit bigger than 8", so that is what I specified. (And yes, I gave them my VIN also). The card they sent is labeled for the 8"..... is it possible that I measured wrong?
The 8" is touch only - the 9.2" is touch & jog dial. So if you have a big round controller knob on the console, you got the wrong one...

I have both touch and a big round controller..................... wait... are we still talking about the car???

I applied the the new update and I love it. The system has never sounded better (they must have tweaked the frequency response). The base range sounds more distinct without being "boomy" . I'm also happy with the new graphics added to the Ipod feed. All this and a lower price!! Bravo Genesis Bravo

Now that's funny. Depending on your 2015 Hyundai Genesis build date you may need/receive both a usb stick and an SD card. The head units in early 2015 builds used a stick. Good luck with it on the bleeding edge of tech? Not so much. But I'll wait for the fallout before I go from v12.5 to 14 even though it MAY be totally free to download by May 15. Much better price than $170. Losing the cell phone signal and battery level display with the v14 update kind of sucks.

I haven't even considered it could affect the sound - but why not. I'll have to check it out!

My sound seems unaffected... But I like how on wired playback it gives you the option to turn off surround sound at the top. Don't know if it does on BT yet.

Did you call them to make the order? Website still says no update available in Canada.

Yep. Spoke with them several times yesterday. No mention of a Canada restriction. Remember that I received an SD card from them yesterday..... so what would the restriction be?

Yes it does suck , I lost that stuff when I went to the 13.5 update .

same here.

FYI. If you are experiencing any issues with the HU after the update, disconnect your phone from BT or hardwire the. Go into settings and use the reset option and reset the HU.

sometimes customized settings don’t properly carry over from update to update, so reset they HU to default then reprogram your custom sound and other settings.

I believe I mentioned this after the 13.0 update when I was having issues and it is what MapnSoft support recommended and it worked to correct my issues.
