  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just picked up a Genesis 4.6 so I am kind of new to it. I am in the process of changing all my interior lights to a cool white color. So far I have done the inside trunk light. I was doing the glove box next since they use the same cover and everything. Well my glove box lights have not worked since I picked up my Genesis. I have never noticed them on once which is weird. I read the manual and it says if the glove box is opened, the lights should turn on. I even turned on the engine in the car to see if that would work but still no. So I changed out the bulb and they still won't work. I even checked to see if the bulb would work on the trunk lights and it does. So is my glove box wire broken or something or is there a switch? Also I was doing the license plate lights as well but I couldn't wiggle out the lights. How can I get it out easily?

OK, mystery solved. Open glove box and unlatch it just as if you ware to change the cabin filter then once the glove box is hanging please look to the left side of the chassis wall and you will see a small 1/3 circle black switch. Press it several times and see if the light in your glove box turns on and if not then this is the switch you need to change. Most likely the switch just got "stuck" and is not turning the light on. I fixed my today just by pressing on it several times I think it had corroded contacts inside of it. Good luck

P.S. Sonata got the same switch hidden on the right side and it is behind the glove box tray, follow same procedure to fix it or replace it.
