  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Going to give Hyundai a try........warranty or no?

You will eventually get used to the dead pedal feel. I have it on the 4.6 too, but I did tweak the flapper the air filter area which I swear made a difference IMO. Maybe just a placebo effect, but the car felt better. You are smart to buy the warranty for peace of mind being the second owner.

Thanks Dawg. I was wondering if the dead pedal thing was just me.

At the end of the day I figured since the warranty was fully transferable AND refundable should I sell the car it would be unwise to pass. They clinched me with the zero deductible. If I have to use it just once it will probably pay for itself.

I bought a 2013 model in 2015 with 27k miles on it. Paid about $1,600 for a Maxcare warranty that covers the car for 5 years or up to 125,000 miles. I'm a sales rep and am on the road constantly. With all the expensive bells and whistles on this car I'd have been foolish not to buy the extended warranty. The deductible is only $50 per repair. Just got it out of the shop last week for a trunk latch/switch repair that would have run me about $400 w/o the warranty. My motto has always been to buy a the warranty on expensive items. Sometimes you win but in my opinion you can never lose.

Btw, nobody services my car but the dealer (I'm kind of funny that way). The Maxcare warranty is accepted by the dealership and works as seamlessly as the original Hyundai warranty when it was in effect.

I replaced the flying H on the trunk Sunday and when I got home from work my center caps had arrived. I just popped those on. Thanks for the tip Mark 888, makes a BIG difference IMO. I have an appt for the tint in 2 weeks and then I'm done until next summer. A nice set of staggered 20's and I'll call it a day! If my 12 yr old didn't need braces the wheels would already be in route! Lol.

Nicely done . .did you get the extended warranty from Hyundai or did you purchase from a third party? I am purchasing a 2013 as well . .

I purchased the warranty from a 3rd party, through the dealership. It was a smart autocare warranty from a company named Fortegra I believe.

New member here and do not own one yet. But I have my eye on a 2011 4.6 and a 2012 4.6 both cars are in the mid 50K range on mileage and are 2 owner cars. I went and looked at the 2011 after dealer hours and was extremely nice. Peace of mind means a lot and the insurance of knowing that if something does go wrong I wouldn't have to drain my bank account to repair it. So when I do get a Genesis whether its one these two cars or not I think I will purchase some type of warranty.

I love the car. If I would've gone with the 4.6 I would have done the warranty without much thought given. I noticed expensive issues coming up when researching with regard to the 17 speaker stereo system. I had a 4.6 on my list, but it was 45 min away in Cincinnati AND the 3.6 I ended up buying checked all my boxes. Good luck with your search!

If you are someone that doesn't like or plan for failure get the plan. I owned 2009 past 250k miles. It's built for it. But electronics can be an issue. Just luck of the draw and can be expensive. When I got my 2013 I got a plan for 150k or 5 years. Because I prefer fixed costs to a surprise. Really all about risk I would recommend the first gen to everyone and warranty always. Not unique to this car
