However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Does anyone know where I can find one of those fold out mats that protects the rear bumper from golf bags? Don't want to damage/scratch the new R-Spec:D

Thanks,

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If you give up golf you'll have more money in your pocket, more time to polish your Genesis, and also won't have to worry about marring the top of the bumper. :D

But seriously, I had a piece of 3M Ventureshield film applied to my bumper top when I had the front end wrapped. It protects against dings from stuff going into and out of the trunk. I'm not a golfer, but I haul a lot of landscaping stuff (plants, mulch, topsoil, etc) - I have a Hexomat trunk liner that does a great job of protecting the OEM carpet.

Instead of spending big $$ buying that....

Do what I do..

Get a beach towel from wal-mart, mine is Black, and keep it rolled up right under the trunk floor (where the spare is), when hauling items that may scratch the paint, lift up the trunk floor, unroll the towel and place on rear deck. before closing the trunk just put the excess towel on top of the items to prevent marring of the trunk lid when closing. When all done just roll the towel back up and store back where spare is. Price of towel $6...and it looks like its OEM. (get a black one)

Has worked wonders!

Cheers,
Staz!

Unfurling a towel while holding a golf bag... meh.

Go with the 3m film.

Or, given you saved $30-40k when you bought the Rspec vs. more pricy alternatives, you can spend the savings to join a better golf club that stores your clubs for you on site. Then you won't have to unload them from the trunk, ever.

DG - where do I find this miracle material, and who did you have put it on? Also, what is 'wrapped'? I just got my 5.0 (not R-Spec) last Friday and have developed a phobia for dings/scratches/anything less than awe-inspired looks. I want to protect my baby!

Here is a link for a place that I found. I spoke to the guy there and he is willing to custom make it for the R-spec (whatever dimensions I want). He will put velcro on one end and that sticks to the carpet in your trunk. Then you fold it out when you need it. When you don't, just fold it in your trunk.

It is not the clear film DG is talking about but this is what I was looking for. It would work perfect for the golf bag.

Let me know if others are interested and I can try and get a group rate!!!

the OP was referring to the golf mat, the towel was a option. But I'd go with the 3M if your continually going to be hauling clubs, but....

that doesn't protect the entire bumper like the towel or mat would, so go with the towel or mat, you'll have a nice scratch free deck, with scratches on your bumper which are more noticable anyways, IMHO of course.

Any installer of protective film can supply it (there are several brands; Ventureshield is among the best), and I think you can find it online if you want to do it yourself. Wrapping film over the curved surfaces of hoods, bumpers and fenders requires a lot of skill and experience, but putting on a narrow strip along the top of the rear bumper would not be difficult. Many window film installers also work with protective body film.
