  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Back in March I traded my 2006 Avalon on a 2015 CPO 3.8 AWD. I really liked the car. However one big problem was the seat design was causing nerve pain down both legs. Never has this happen before on any other car i have owned. I had the seat modified by adding more foam to the center bottom rear of the seat but it did not work. In just came down to having to get rid of the pain. So with a heavy heart I traded the Genesis for a 2016 Toyota Avalon with the Technology package (not easy to find). No pain with the Avalon seat. I will be posting a few parts I have for the Genesis that i will not need.

I have enjoyed the car and this forum thanks for all the good info

Sorry to see you go but understand. Have you considered butt implants? You may end up looking like that Hollywood woman but you'd be comfortable.

funny, I had the exact same issue with my 2015 Lexus RCF and had to sell it as a result, the G80 Sport seats are the most comfortable for me that I found out of many vehicles I test drove.

The swelling and leg (and lower back) discomfort I got in the RCF is gone, and the G80 is very comfortable to drive and makes my daily commute far more enjoyable.

Good luck with the Avalon, Toyota makes great cars, my wife has had 3 Camry's since 1999, though I can't say I care for the Avalon's wide mouth bass fish front fascia, the car overall is a great vehicle..

GOOD LUCK!

In 2014, I did just the opposite. I traded my Avalon for a 15' Genny. The drivers' seat in the Avalon was so bad, that I could not set in it for an hour without severe pain in my back and legs. While the Genny is firmer than I like, I have no problem on 300 mile trips.

Slightly off topic, but I drove an Audi A4 with sport package (slightly different seats than standard A4) and had pain within 5 minutes on the outside of both my calves, it was the strangest thing, I told the dealership I was test driving it at and they said they never heard of an issue, but talked to someone at a different audi dealership and they said it happens.....

surprised that the car makers are having this issue, and more than one in this day and age of design.

I think you made a huge mistake... I have a fully loaded 2014 Avalon (limited with technology package so it came with premium leather) and one of my primary complaints is the quality of the leather seats and its comfort level. If you go to the Toyota Avalon forums, that's actually one of the major complaints. There's actually a dedicated thread on how to install extra seat cushion because the seats are so uncomfortable. I'm not sure about the seats in the newly designed 2019 Avalons but mine are terrible. I'm not saying this to make you feel bad at all. I really hope you find a car with more comfortable seats but I honestly don't think you would find them in a 2016 Avalon...
