  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

got f'ed up today

Jesus... would've stopped my heart for a second. they both crossed yellow lines. hope yall were all okay!
I had a close call on the Futa Pass. This is a road with many turns and used by Ducati for testing. I was just going into a turn when a bike was coming out. They were on their side of the line but leaning had with their heads well over the line. They came very close and were going fast.
Great road if you ever get to Italy. Loaded with switchbacks. Something like 100 turns in 50 miles.

Italy? I'm just poor little resident physician :(

Yes, runs from Bologna to Florence over the mountains. Part of the Gothic Line in WWII. We had a rental car but would be better on 2 wheels.

Definitely get one. I have Viofo A129 pro duo. It's a bit expensive but good imo. I can see at night pretty well too.
That looks like a decent one. Maybe I'll get that one as well. I have started down the "dashcam research" alley a couple times before, but it seems to have a deep-end that I always got lost in. One of the challenges I found is whenever I went looking for one that could withstand 150+ degree interior summertime temperatures of a parked car in Texas, the options seemed to rapidly dwindle. Granted the last time I researched it was a couple of years ago.

(Edited to add link supporting temperature; I couldn't believe it either).

Probably the best winding road I have ever been on is the "Back of the Dragon". It is insane...but wickedly fun. Used to take my S4 on it all the time.

438 curves within 32 miles.

"Tail of the Dragon" at Deal’s Gap in Robbinsville, North Carolina (and TN) has the most in the USA (if not the world). 318 turns within 11 miles of Route 129 !!! I want to take my G70 on this...one day :)

I live in Vegas. You just need one with an internal capacitor. Suction mounts don’t work, but if you properly prep a 3M VHB won’t fall off even in our heat

I've used I81 a couple of times heading south and this is not too far from it. I may take the time on one trip. Looks like fun.

I81 through Virginia is an all-around unpleasant experience. A two lane interstate with lots of hills, which therefore causes massive slowdowns as the trucks struggle on some of them side-by-side at what I'm guessing is their maximum velocity (which can be 60mph uphill). Couple that radar detectors being illegal statewide and putting folks in jail for speeding tickets, unless I'm visiting family there, I try to avoid I-81.

Same one I have on mine, the V3 has greatly improved night time recording and also parking mode. Highly recommend it for around 100 bucks.

Nice, well done. Should've ran the wires behind the airbags in A pillar though.

But if you are on the DC beltway at the wrong time your description sounds enticing.

Is that you in the video? Very well done.

Nope just something I found on YouTube when I was researching the A119 V3. He did a much better job than me for hiding those wires, i just taped mine down along the A pillar edge. If the airbag goes off it would just unplug from the unit.

was able to get a quote today to replace the tire and fix/paint match rear bumper & quarter panel. $1700 USD... good thing for insurance I guess.........
