Got my first dent :(

Many years ago my wife (then fiance) bought a new Chevy. She parked it in her parents' driveway and her dad came out with a hammer and gave it a tiny ding in the rear bumper. He told her it would toughen her up so her first real scrape would not be so painful.

I would have left my parents for good....lol jk

believe it or not, my brand new genesis got its first door ding on the FIRST NIGHT i had it.
went to the movies with friends and the thing even got paint transfered.
can you even imagine how angry i was, or how much my friends laughed at me.
ugh

My last car was rear ended twice in the first week I had it. First one was within 24 hours.

This one seems to hurt worse because I did it.

But the worst one of all, I was picking up my wifes custom built truck that I just had a 15K custom paint job done on it. Drove down the street from the body shop to make a U turn, hit a little too much gas and the back end started coming around on me. Lucky for me, or not, there was a light post to catch the rear bumper and keep it from spinning around. Wife wasn't happy at all when I got home. neitehr was my painter as he had just spent the better part of a year doing the paint and body.

Lucky for me, all it was was to replace the bumber and repaint some of the bumper trim. But I caught he!! for a few years about it.

I always try to park as far as possible for that reason...but that doesn't seem to work as some people park right next to me when there are 20 other more spaces around
