If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2010 genesis with the Tech Package, the Map are uploaded via DVD

Anyway to update this to the latest maps without paying the 200$ dealer price.

Does anyone have any tricks or tips to update the maps?

Sure. Send me the $200. I'll send you a dealer's address.

The update requires a license key that is associated with the unique radio ID. Even if someone was to send you the DVD's, you would be unable to perform a successful install on your vehicle. If you don't want to spend the $200, I suggest using your smartphone as a navigation device.

When you purchase the OS/Map updates from MapNSoft, which is the largest part of what your dealership is charging you (Aside from the 1 to 2 hours of labor since it takes ****ing forever for it to update and is best done with a battery tender providing power to the battery).

Usually your dealer already has the DVDs, it's the unique code tied to just your headunit is the chief thing they are buying from MapNSoft.

I acquired the discs from a friend that purchased them and did his own update and yes the OS will update with no issue, the map update will not even start until you provide it with the unique code.

Just ordered V10 for my 2016 Genesis Tech, will update when I get it and installed.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Could be worse. Did everyone hear about how Lexus "bricked" everybody's Navigation and entertainment systems with an automatic update??? It seems that people with the "Enform" system (a little like Blue Link), are without navigation, and/or radio, until Lexus can undo the damage to their systems.....I'm glad that our updates aren't automatic....This has been going on for over a week....
PS.....This is worldwide.

I have the ultimate pkg and called my dealer. The service mgr said that since I had a 2015 model I didn't need an update. When I told him that I had the 9.0 version and that there was a 9.5 out a year ago and that the 10.0 just came out his response was, "Oh, OK." When I then asked what it would cost to up grade, his response was, "About $200-$300, or so." I told him I didn't want a guess, I wanted to know how much it would cost. He put me on hold and came back on and told me it would be $340.

I went on the "MnSOFT.com" website and ordered it for $228.91 including shipping and tax. The websit has step by step pictured directions and it looks rather doable. I'll post after I receive my order and try the update.

Sounds like the dealer didn't really want to do it.....

What is weird is that when I requested the code after buying V10 today it says:

Authentication Code is not required for 2016 Hyundai Genesis(only touch) Map Update-101S51(101S51_2016_GENESIS_ONLY_TOUCH)

I did the V10 update myself yesterday afternoon. Very easy to do and entire update process took approximately 30 minutes (maybe a bit less). One of the new features I noticed today while driving my Genesis is that the lane guidance feature now works on surface streets in addition to freeways when you're navigating to a destination. I really like this feature. Also, the 3D map view is very nice and the map graphics (especially the font for street names) are much crisper. Also, I noticed that the load time when inputting destinations is much quicker. Haven't really used the voice commands too much, so I don't know what differences, if any, are there. Overall, a pricey update, but very good too.

My 2012 5.0 is currently at the dealer getting the v10 Navigation update. The dealer is charging $235, and stated that it will take 6-hours to complete. I understood that it ideally would take 2 hours, but many fail and they have to start over.

In talking to MapnSoft support, i was told that v10 has much improved functionality, and support of iPhone5, 6, 6+.

I will update folks later on what functional improvements are seen when running v10 on the 2012 Sedan with DIS (Jog Dial interface).

Please test if they added music streaming over bluetooth. I really miss it on my 2012 jog dial one.

VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Navigation V10 does NOT bring any improvements to:
1. Menus
2. iPhone Bluetooth (music play)
3. Automatic time to destination based on MPH
4. MAP image drawing

It does provide more roads and POI, but that's it.

I even in-paired my phone and then re-paired it to see if streaming audio would work. No luck.

The dealer said that they started it at 10am, and saw it complete at 5pm (7 hours total). The engine was left running the entire 7 hours. WHAT A WASTE.

Even more irritating is that the new map update directs me home incorrectly (cannot drive over a traffic island to turn left).

I was really hoping that the upgrade would bring improved integration with my iPhone 6+, and a more icon type menu.

When you say no menus improvements, is it no improvements from original 2012 stock, or you updated before?
I hate that auto dimming would not dim the screen enough for me at night. And woild I go in the menu and crank it down, then it's too dim in the sun. I don't use car gps, because they all suck compared to waze/google maps, but hoped there would be improvements in the interface, like separate day/night brightness settings.

Looks like Hyundai Motor America is going to provide free navigation and entertainment system updates for first 3 years of ownership, maybe starting with 2017 models. It probably will not be retroactive to previous model years, but not 100% sure.

I see no difference in the menus, or interface functions from the old version Dec-2011 to the new Dec-2015 version.

I truly expected the initial warning screen would timeout and go away on its own, that the map quality and menus would improve.

I was told by the customer service guy at MapnSoft that "you will love version 10, it is very much like ApplePlay, with a brand new interface". What a bunch of lies for those of us with the 2012 a Jog Dial interface. :-(

Oh boy, this warning screen annoys me as hell too. Thanks, you saved me money, now I know there is no reason for me to update ever.
Maybe you should raise a claim with mapnsoft to be refunded.

Today I was notified by the Nav company that I would be credited 50% of the upgrade cost, because of false statements made to me by the customer service agent. I was also told that the Nav upgrade in a 2012 Genny takes less than two hours to complete, even though the dealer stated it took 6+ hours. I do not understand the large difference in time.

V10 update on my 2016 only took about 30 minutes - very easy. The upgrade to 3D maps is really nice - still somewhat inferior routing to Google Maps/Waze, but it will get you there.

2016 is done by usb flash drive. 2012 is a bunch of DVDs that take forever and brings nothing according to above post.
