  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Certain times of the day, the sun obliterates my GPS screen (7 inch). If I hold a piece of cardboard out over the top of it, then i can see the screen. I've seen shades for portable units are available, but have found nothing larger for a car, just "home made" solutions. Has anyone come up with something or found a suitable shade. Maybe it could velcro to the dash and still "look good".

Do a search there is a previous thread discussing this subject. They found an anti-glare screen protector which seems to work although visibility may have been reduced. I think the glarestomper is for aftermarket units.

I cut some plastic .030" shim stock to fit the width, and let it hang 2-1/2" past the trim on the dash, then painted it to match the trim. I used a heat gun to put a fold in the shim stock at @ 3/8" to slip it under the dash trim.

Any way to post a pic of your installation. Where does one get "shim stock" from

Thanks
