GPS updating

Want to update the Map/GPS

downloaded the update.
Says I can load it directly to an SD card.

called genesis and they said I could take out the curent card and load to that.

Would like a second opinion before i do this and possibly wind up with no map systyem at all. Tried to do the upgrade by flash drive but it tells me each time that ths flasdrive is either too large or too small?

More information would help. There is a difference between say, 2018 and 2022 but I have no idea what you have.
On the 2018 and similar, the SD card in the car can be used. I never tried a flash drive like some new one use.

Can I assume you are using the update program to handle the file writing to card?

The older model 2019/20/21 you can overwrite the current SD card and use over and over (I do this).

Don't worry about overwriting the data on the card, if you are concerned simply copy the data off the SD card and save somewhere else if you need to revert. It's that simple.

Personally I download the new update to my PC, then just find the file in my folder and "copy" when i'm ready to update to the SD card manually. Has worked every time on my 2019.

Same for me. My 2019 works the same way.

Does anybody know if another update is coming this month or is the current posted file the latest for a while now?

Not on the 2022s, you must download the updates to your own SD then download directly into the vehicle, but each time an error occurs. Now I only have a working radio. Maps and the remainder of the accessories for traveling no longer work, including voice activation.

Not very user friendly.

You can see the version you have on the screen but you have to poke around. Don't recall exactly where.
