  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The car is delightful to drive, except when you need an electrical/electronic function which might or might not work. Using the various features is not always as intuitive as it could be. But, even after one learns how the functions are supposed to work, often they do not.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I would grade Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Tech the following.

mechanical = A

Electrical = A

Ergonomic = B

Fun for a sedan = A BMW would get an A+ in fun.

Mechanical ........... A
Electrical .............. D
Ergonomic ............. B

Love my Genesis but it is what it is.

Unfortunately, the Lexicon system isn't designed by Hyundai. I'd like to break it down further:

Mechanical:
Engine: A+
Chassis rigidity: A
Suspension: B- (Too firm to be luxury, too soft to be sport)
Steering feel: B- (Too loose, too susceptible to crosswinds)
Transmission: C+ (Way too jerky on acceleration from a stop)

Electrical:
Non-stereo reliability: B (back-up camera disappearing occasionally; has happened 3-4 times)
Stereo reliability: B (Occasionally stereo system fails to "boot" and I have to re-start the car; has happened about 5-6 times and I have 43K miles on the car)

Ergonomic:
Position of seating and basic controls: A (things are laid out predictably)
iPod integration software: D- (System does not remember where it is on a play list when you restart a car, searching for songs is very painful, no voice search integration, does not show me the artist of a song when playing iPod)
Navigation Software: C- (Why is E. Main street treated differently than W. Main street? Show me both and let me choose. Also, just copy the voice search from Android)
Feel of switchgear: A (love the feel of the selector wheel)
