  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Guys!

Greetings from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Just purchased my Genesis 3.8 (Sapphire Blue with Cashmere) about three weeks ago (rebadged after the first week) and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Interestingly there are some differences on the Canadian models. The Power Train warranty is only for five years instead of the 10 years on the U.S. models. The Tire Pressure Monitoring system fullfills a regulatory requirement in the U.S. and is not required or available in Canada. I also noticed that oil change intervals for severe use is 6,000 Km in Canada but is 5,000 Km (3,000 miles) in the States.

I've already had the vehicle mistaken as the latest Mercedes by the owner of a Bed and Breakfast where my wife and I recently stayed.

HI, Dan, nice to hear from one of our Northern brethren. Congrats on your new gennie. I'm sure that the two of you will be very happy together. ;) I loved my visit to Vancouver and really fell in love with Victoria. What a beauty!

Is your car set up for metric (i.e. km vs. miles) by the factory or is that an option for the owner?

Enjoy your new wonder car and :welcome:

Welcome aboard, Dan! Thank you for signing up and congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis!

Congrats on the New Gen! I'm out of Ontario, and I feel the same way you do about being shafted on the warranty, plus the cars here are pricier than in the US.

Yes, the speedo has dual kph and mph (with kph being dominant) and the odometer is in kilometers. I can set the temperature control and outside temp guage to either degrees C or F. However, the fuel consumption is only presented in Litres/100km instead of the more commonly understood miles per gallon.

Overall I really LOVE this car!
