  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all!
Brand new to the forum and it suggested that I introduce myself.

We own a Genesis coupe 3.8 with around 70k miles on it. We needed to replace our 2006 Honda accord with around 250k miles and we ended up deciding on the GV60 Performance with 8.5k in discounts. We just brought it home last night and have not set up everything with it yet.

I'm looking forward to learning the ins and outs of owning an electric vehicle.

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. So you have a Genesis Coupe AND a Genesis GV60! Congratulations! How has the Genesis Coupe treated you? And how are you liking the GV60 so far? The Honda Accord has always been a great car so but I'm highly confident you won't miss much with the GV60...

-My wife's car is the 2012 Genesis Coupe. She absolutely loves it. It is not nearly as fast 0 to 60 as the GV60 but it is a wonderful rat racer. It really corners extremely well, especially with the very expensive top of the line performance tires we put on it.

We both work from home so we don't drive a whole lot. I'm hoping to get a chance in the next few days to drive it. It is definitely very slow to charge on a standard outlet. I just finished charging the car for 8 hours overnight and it went from 76% to 78% charged. That is crazy slow, that is 1/4% per hour, to go up 25% would mean 4 full days of charging.

Man, I guess one needs a special charger to get any decent charging from home. Not sure what they cost but they seem pretty crucial for an electric car...

The Genesis Coupe always reminded me of the Infiniti G35/G37. But there's something about the Genesis that makes it stand out more for me. Perhaps just the fact that you rarely see one. Back then Infiniti still had a very large following. Definitely a keeper if you hold on to cars for a while...
