  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 09 tech (3.8) had its first hiccup this weekend. A series of events. First a flickering dome light, the next day no volume on the stereo or phone (screen looked right but no sound). Upon restart stereo worked but was intermittent for the day. And a couple of erratic window wiper swipes. Read most all of the comments about battery, radio head and software updates as well as flickering lights but I thought I'd ask the pros. What I've done....checked battery output....its 6 weeks old and shows 12.8 v and alternator shows 14.20. Tightened my battery ground, top terminal may have been 1/16th turn loose. Made sure wiper switch is set to "off" disabling the auto wiper feature. Started car with remote key in slot a couple of times...don't know why. So I'm wondering if there is a hard reset involving a disconnected battery? If so just how? Right now the gremlins are asleep but if they show their ugly face again I want to be ready for them. Thanks

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
More than likely there is an intermittent ground somewhere else that causes the problem. I think I read on this forum once that there were multiple ground points throughout the car.

I remember reading about some fuse box grounding issues. Try doing a search on that and verify the fuse holders are nice and tight.
If you can figure out which fuse might be common to the affected symptoms I would certainly try pulling it and tightening the holder.

This site drives me crazy, typed a lengthy reply and then poof it just disappeared...third time it's happened to me #*&!! Will try again later. Thanks

Compose your post in Notepad or something, then paste it into the editing box. That way you won't lose your text if it disappears into the bowels of the interwebs.

Contact a dealer. Hyundai extended the warranty on the wiper motors for Genesis sedans built at that time due to a defect in manufacturing. I don't remember the details, but it may still be under warranty.
