  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK, I take my Genesis into the Lexus Dealership to get two tiny Hail dents removed with Paintless dent Removal. They did this for my Lexus GS350 last year, and so I asked them to do my Genesis.

In all my times at this Lexus Dealership I never saw another Model of car other than a Lexus, so when I entered the Service Bay I was a bit apprehensive. The guy that meets you instantly greeted me with "Boy, have I been waiting for you today, I have never sat in one of these Cars before and was looking forward to it." Then he said in a hushed voice "I own a Sonata, and the Dealership was bragging about this car". Another guy came over and asked me how I liked it, and I said I really liked the car.....And then he said "And you saved a boatload of money of too!"

I then came inside where the Service guy writes up the order and he started asking me about the car...How I liked it, etc. etc. -- He then whispered in a Hushed voice that his parents owned two of them in Florida...

While I was waiting for the paperwork, a couple other Lexus employees came out to the car and circled it two or three times, giving it a complete look over! The service guy remarked that these guys were really interested in my car.

I would have guessed that they would have been fired on the spot....This was most attention that my Genesis ever got in the 1 and half years of ownership!

I am assuming it was Lexus of Wayzata? Their reaction sounds hysterical! That is a good dealership based on my four-car purchase and service experience with them. The body shop there is excellent!

You nailed it!....I bought two cars from them......

I had the same experience. last friday i took my friend to our local chrysler dealership to buy a Black 300c when we arrived i had two people come out and ask what kind of car it was. they never thought it was a hyundai because there was know hyundai emblem on the car. we get back after the test drive and go in to do the paper work the manager was trying to make me an offer for my car. they were going crazy saying i want that car on my lot i can sell this car he gave me an offer of $ 26,500 with out driving the car but it was a no deal. but the manager said that when they go to the auto auction they only see the other hyundai models but not the genesis. i drove by the last night and i see they had a used black on the lot at the front gate.. :D

I'm trying to think of a good excuse to pull my car into the service area at Motorwerks BMW in the Twin Cities. I know some of the service advisers, so I'll be able to come of up something.

On the road lately, it's become commonplace for Audi drivers to make themselves very apparent around my car. Some 3 and 5-Series drivers do the same thing, but not as often. They buzz by really fast, fall back, follow for awhile, and then figure out a way to pass again. It's especially noticeable with A4 owners. It's obvious their cars are breathing really hard -- like the drivers -- while the Genny is loafing along maintaining the same traffic position as they are. :p

OMG, an A4 did the same thing to me this morning! It was a little uncomfortable because we were in city streets, and he kept slowing down/speeding up the whole time.

LOL

I take mine to a Lexus dealer (same chain) for a car wash, and I always get the opposite reaction...dude, what are YOU doing here with THAT? Nobody actually says anything, but that's the way I feel.

I enjoy stopping into my nearby Lexus dealer every so often for their fancy coffee and sweet treats. I park in front of the used car office, walk through the new car showroom and sit in the service waiting area while I chow. This gives me enough "touch of class" to overcome my disappointment with my Hyundai dealer's lack of similar treats for its customers.

Well-played, good Sir. Well-played, indeed.

Let's have some fun:cool:
