  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV70 door locks

Auto-walk-away-door-lock is also in the GV70 navigation manual that came with the car. Why would they keep printing it if no Genesis has it implemented? Maybe there is a trick to unlock the feature?
I doubt that the software can be unlocked like some easter egg. It is far more likely that the function was either developed (or still in development) and they decided not to ship it in current builds.

There is no technical reason why it could not be present in some future software update. All we know is that it is not implemented currently.

Interesting.

I’ve had my 2022 GV70 for a week and just discovered that the lock button, on all four doors, doesn’t work. The unlock button is working, because I can hear it click when pushed. But when I push the lock button, on the door panel there is nothing. Has anyone experienced this prob?
Hi, yes, picked up my GV70 and I am noticing the door lock/unlock button on the door panel is not working.

But on the GV70, don’t you guys just close the door behind you and then gently place your hand on the exterior door handle for a second and then all the door lock?

This is easy enough when it's just me getting out and walking inside. Where it's a minor annoyance is when I have to get my daughter out of her car seat and carry her in. Can still be done obviously, but it would be easier if it just locked automatically either after a certain amount of time or based on distance from a fob. My wife's CX9 has this and it's a nice convenience. Seems like a simple thing to include.

You can also push the little button on the outside front door handle, and that will lock the car as long as the fob isn’t in the vehicle.

And for anyone reading in the future, don't do what I did and assume that running your finger across that will open it as well. My previous car would open and close from that, so I kept trying to open the door by that sensor and it wouldn't work and it drove me crazy. Then I read the manual and realized it's the inside of the handle that unlocks it. :)

Does this only work when using the fob? I tried with the app, with the fingerprint and neither locked the doors. With he digital card, I was able to lock and unlock

I believe to lock the vehicle you either hit the lock button as described in the above quote, by the lock button on the hatch (If the fob isn’t in the car), or by the fob itself.

I had the opposite. My passenger door wouldnt open when placing my hand in handle. It was a bent connector pin

my only complaint about the door locks (very insignificant;) by the way) is that when I walk up to unlock the car, sometimes I "fatfinger it" and hit the door lock button, and hand to pull the key out to unlock. Frustrated me until I read that unless you unlock right away with the key, there is a 3 sec (maybe 5) where you can't use the door to unlock again. Not sure what this feature if for...but again, short time delay for us impatient people.
