  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2023 GV70 2.5T prestige, and I find it a tad too quiet for my liking.

I've considered getting a valved muffler to allow me to switch between wife-friendly mode (quiet) to fun mode, but I would have liked the sports plus mode to automatically be that fun mode, meaning that when it's on sport plus mode, I'd like the valve on the valved exhaust to open automatically.
Unfortunately, it didn't seem like it was possible and the closest that could be done was having a universal valved exhaust installed that would require me to use a remote when I want to open/close the valves, so I ended up dropping the idea.

Instead, now I'm considering just having the stock exhaust replaced, but I've never had this done before and I'm hoping some knowledgeable folks could answer some of my questions:
1. Is it worth having a custom exhaust installed, or is the exhaust on the GV70 pretty good quality already?
2. I like when crackles and pops coming out from the exhaust, would a higher quality racing exhaust help with that? To be clear, I like crackles and pops a bit, but not at the cost of damaging the engine.
3. If I get a new exhaust installed, should I also get my ECU tuned? Where does one go for something like that?

Thank you

Basically, cut out the muffler at the rear & route the pipes to the 'outlets' built into the rear valance. The piping does not physically attach to the outlets/tips, it 'floats' in the center.

The junkyard, empty space and twin pipes. It’s a bit loud at cold start for my wife and the drone at 70-90 is solid. May add a small can to reduce that. Time will tell

I did the muffler delete on my 2.5 and it was way too loud inside the car. I had it reversed as it made me not want to drive the car with it being so loud.

I was trying to get the other pics to post but they were too large. sill site.

I've raced and had lots of performance cars. I say its louder inside then BMW.. but less then others. Going to add some sound deadener and some pipe extensions to see if it has any effect . I love it around town... just the long trips it can be a bit dronned.
