  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So i remote started my car this evening, when i went inside i noticed the master warning light was on and there were no lights in the buttons on the steering wheel. So i restarted the car. Master warning light was not on but came on after about 30 seconds then i saw the message that says "Check Lane Safety System & Check Lane Change Assist Sytem". Buttons on steering wheel remain black and intermittently flash... they also do no operate at all... anyone had these issues ? See photos

Haven't heard of that issue before. Let us know what the dealer says if they check it out.

Long shot but everything is computer driven you can try and disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reset the computer.

Was there a fix for this? Currently experiencing the same issues. Steering wheel controls not working, with system issues C0CE02CA-79DF-4B83-8C11-00417CDE78E8.jpeg
Build date, April 2021. Was running original software.

so along with this I noticed a few issues...

- approaching the car the mirrors don’t automatically fold out. I have to hit the button in the car
- Can’t start the car with fingerprint, the dash doesn’t come on until physical push button is started.
- Takes a while to set the dash to recommended settings upon start up.
- Starting the car I feel like the car gets confused setting settings
- Any HDA2 settings do not pop up on the head unit after my dash lights up. Usually takes about 2/3 minutes after start up for me to get those alerts.

Ive read on the GV80 forums after they updated their software things was back to normal. However they didn’t have the steering wheel control issues attached to this issue. So I finally updated the software last night to April 2022, which btw is a nice upgrade, small things matter... but it Unfortunately did not solve a single issue. I do have an appointment at genesis on Thursday but it bothers me so much I might disconnect the battery for a little bit and see if that will solve the problem, especially since I just did a software update. OR maybe it’s the safety system that actually needs to be updated at the dealership? Idk.

Should I wait for the appointment or try to solve it myself? Thing is I don’t want to disconnect the battery, then it does go away for some time then it happens again lol

I actually had an appointment the following day to get it checked out. Woke up the next morning and everything was fine. Everything has been fine since then. Still have no clue how it fixed itself. But you should definitely go to the dealer because the software update did fix most of the issues you are experiencing.

Ok so update…. After the update yesterday I did restart the car but not fully let it sit then restart. This morning I drove to work, same issues…

I just got in my car and everything is working with no problems. Steering wheel controls back and everything good.

Maybe I just needed to drive it after the update for a good reset? Idk, but right now, I’m happy af 🤣

Just had this happen to me. Had the car parked at airport for 10 days. Started it tonight... and no lights/functions on the steering wheel buttons. I pulled over, turned the car off, still no function.
Hope that it is ok tomorrow. Car going in for service in a couple of weeks, will have them check this out.

The next morning I was hoping that it was fixed.. but alas, it wasn't. However, later in the day, when I started the car, all was normal. Go figure.

All you have to do is "threaten" to take the car to the dealer and it will magically fix itself.

This is what happened to me. Was on and off the night it happened... worked fine the next day, then the day after just completely stopped working.

But I would recommend checking your software version. It matters, especially the early 2021 software.

This just started happening to me just now. I just self detailed my vehicle and verified sensors aren’t covered or anything. My steering wheel just flashes like it’s rebooting but doesn’t do anything. Hadn’t used my vehicle all day and now can’t make it work.

This happened to me this morning. Hoping when I start it tmrw it works normally again. Weird....

The only way I was able to remedy the issue was to disconnect the negative from the battery and let it reset the computer after two hours. Then it worked again. Then my Coasting died and I did another battery disconnect and that got fixed. Seems there may be some issues with the software.

Yes these issues were corrected with April software update. Make sure your systems are up to date

Well, I can officially say my car isn’t perfect, lol.

I‘m having the same issue as you guys, except mine hasn’t fixed itself! This is the 2nd consecutive day where my steering wheel lights are off and I have an amber exclamation point in my IP.

Called the service department and no one ever picks up! So…I drive over (lucky for me the Hyundai dealer is only a 10 minute drive for me), and I’m on the books for next week. I will update y’all as soon as there’s any news.

Is your software up to date? What’s the firmware number ?
