  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV70 Steering Wheel Controls Stopped Working

This just started on my 2022 gv70. No steering wheel control lights and all controls are dead.

Did anyone actually go to the dealer on this and know what is actually happening?

My software is up-to-date and I should not have to unplug the battery myself to temporarily fix this.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!!!

If you don’t want to do anything yourself, than just drive it that way and eventually it will fix itself. ;-)

I want to bring it back to genesis, knowing the perminent fix so I make sure they fix it for good and not temporarily. I don't want them to take the cheap way out by unplugging the battery and it not being fixed for good. I can not accept just waiting until "it fixes itself" or keep disconnecting the battery is a fix for a sometimes working $65k car!!

If anyone knows if a PERMINANT fix, I'd love to hear it... Thanks!!

What do you mean? Mine fixed itself permanently and hasn't reappeared.

Mine was fine for 19 months and then it just went away... then it happened.... You mean your car and my car are fixed until it happens again...

I had the same problem this week. Found out that the battery level is getting low - this is my car's (2022 GV70 3.5) way of telling me to get a new battery. I bought the car in July 2021.

2yrs for a battery?! Oof. Sounds like they should have planned for 2 as some high-drain vehicles do (engine + auxiliary).

So with just over 2 years of owning this vehicle, this issue just happened to me today. Sigh! I had been on leave and was away and it wasn't started for 10 days. Started the car this morning and no lights on the steering wheel, however, they would flash every so often. Check Lane Change Assist Function and Check Lane Safety System do pop up as errors. I've shut down, restarted a few times and to no avail.
I will say I am already on the latest software update which was done a few weeks ago. Did the software reset and still nothing different. I'm inclined to give Genesis a call but based on others saying their's came back after a day or so I'll see if it sorts itself out.

How did you come by this information? My car is the same so I would like to know what's the end result to your situation? TIA!

Came back on its own last night when I started up to go on the road. Sigh of relief but still curious to know what caused it in the first place.

So i remote started my car this evening, when i went inside i noticed the master warning light was on and there were no lights in the buttons on the steering wheel. So i restarted the car. Master warning light was not on but came on after about 30 seconds then i saw the message that says "Check Lane Safety System & Check Lane Change Assist Sytem". Buttons on steering wheel remain black and intermittently flash... they also do no operate at all... anyone had these issues ? See photos

Just to let you know GENESIS has a recall on the steering wheel electronics control. They recently replaced mine on our 2024 GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige.

Same thing has happened to me on my GV70 2022. I am going to bring it in for service.
