If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV70 (USA) Build Configurator Now Available

It's a shame, I might not get the GV70 because of this. I don't want the 3.5TT. I don't want to spend more than 50K since I can get everything for 50K from Q5, GLC, X3. It just doesn't make sense to me to spend close to 60K which is what 3.5TT is gonna be to get the features
I wonder if the reason for this might be to keep the price lower, especially for the 2.5t, therefore maximizing sales volume. I'm sure there will be lots of people who will test-drive this car and like it enough to purchase it without having some of these features. Just a thought.

Could be, and I agree that people might be ready to buy it, only if the price of a 2.5T fully loaded trim is under ~47-48k or lower. I don't think that'll happen, it will probably be closer to ~50K which makes this not worth the price unless the driving dynamics is amazing. The Q5 for this year is a mild-hybrid by default. But yeah let's see what happens in the end. If the price is around 50K, new Tucson/SantaFe(Calligraphy) seem more worth the money

I actually like the options they have esp with the 3.5TT prestige package which I reserved. I wanted the nappa leather with suede inserts glad they brought that over here to the 🇺🇸. I think Gensis is trying to keep the cost down as much as possible. I'm ready to buy take my money Genesis.

I was a little disappointed to see they have the suede inserts. I wanted the full leather Nappa quilted option in the Sport's prestige package and was willing to pay for it. It makes the car look luxurious.

Where are the 21” dark sputtering wheels? Does the US get unique options such as velvet burgundy leatherette?

I'll likely be in the same situation as you, but for different reasons. I would want the 3.5tt with all the available features and the cost isn't a concern, but really don't like a blacked-out car with black wheels. In Korea you don't have to make this choice. I'll wait until the GV70 hits the stores and will take a look at it (and the GV80) in person. I'll also be looking at the MB GLE, which in terms of size slides in right in-between the two Genesis crossovers.

I'm with you regarding the blacked-out chrome and wheels. I know this may be a popular thing for some but I love the look of bright chrome and shinny wheels (yeah I'm old school I guess). I would like to have and could pay for the 3.5tt but will not because of this.

I guess to each their own, but I'm not too fond of the chrome, and the GV70 Sport has too much of it for my taste. The Sports model should be chrome-free. :)

I was wondering about the Leatherette as well. Seems like you can get the Havana Brown in leatherette which I didn't realize was a potential option.

The 3.5T trims are much more well-equipped than the 2.5T trims. If you want features, it may be worth going for the stronger engine if the price delta isn't too high.

Also, just noticed that none of the 2.5T trims have the electronically controlled suspension with road preview. The 3.5T has it available base. Did the GV70 come with the road noise cancelling tech in the GV80? I don't see it as a feature.
Agree 100% @KusaKusa. You inspired me to do a detailed analysis of GV70 features by trim level:

I’m having a hard time even figuring out what trims and engine I’d like without pricing, but the Standard 3.5T has everything I’d really like but HUD and a premium stereo.

I received a text from my dealer regarding the three-spoke steering wheel and the online configurator, and he said, "We will have the three-spoke wheel. The online configurator is not setup for the vehicle animations to change based on equipment."

I'm perfectly fine with the sports model only coming with a black-out appearance. I'm just saying there should be a 3.5tt non-sport Prestige model available, as there is in Korea.

Thanks for checking. Good news to my ears. Now only question i've got is what this will come down to costwise.

No option for red seats? Only certain panels are red. A let down!

3.5T Sport seats (Red/Black interior) will be red Nappa quilted pattern leather according to a Genesis concierge. Don't think the configurator is fully loaded at this point.

I have a GV80 Prestige 3.5T, I was planning on buying a new GV70 Prestige 3.5T for my wife. I don't want sporty interior, we just want the Prestige with all the same goodies as the GV80, classy NOT gaudy..

Marketing 101, failed. Don't release a half-assed product to the internet.

I'm going probably have to eat crow though. I said I didn't think the matte colors would come, but they're listed...

Thank you it definitely has to much Chrome on it and the sports should be blacked out.

It just doesn't make sense to me to spend close to 60K which is what 3.5TT is gonna be to get the features
I agree. Especially with the non existent dealer/service network.
