  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Regarding tires for the 22" wheels. Since these tires are 264/40R22...they are thinner than other 22" tires found on cars like the Q8.

Initially...I was finding tires at ~$400 a pop (even up to $500+)...but those were fat tires there were high performance and summer. No all-seasonals to be found. And they last for probably like 20k miles :(

Now that I know the actual size of the ones on the GV80...I hit up Tire Rack. Apparently Genesis did some research and picked a great tire size that won't break the bank.

You can actually find all-seasonal tires that have fantastic ratings for under $250 a tire...and they last a good long time. Even as low as $200 a tire. So...you can get away with spending under $1k USD for a set of very good all-seasonal tires + install.

Sure beats close to $2k (minimum) for the fatter tires that are NOT all-seasonal and last for about 20k miles.

At first...the 22" were out for me. They are back in the game !!! I think this is great news.

Great find @Beefer! Speaking of tire sizes, I have never understood the concept of putting huge wheels and rubber band tires on luxury sedans because maybe they look cool? I get the aesthetic element of a certain size wheel/tire combo but if the whole car is designed towards luxury and floaty with air suspension and what-not, why do manufacturers ruin it by choosing wheel/tire combos that give smaller sidewall? Well I guess we are all not always rational!

Lot's of things go into tire selection just like anything else. Beefer, greatly appreciate that leg work. Just awesome stuff as I too love the look of that wheel, but was wanting a bit a fatter tire as the roads in cT suck. If I purchase over lease, I will purchase a set of winter wheels and tires in a 19" or so and then get a set of summer tires (if they offer that option). I have used all seasons, but am not a big fan.

I feel that summer tires are so much better in the warmer weather and that you get so much more with winters in these cold climates regardless of how much snow you get. We drove my wife's BMW convertible with winter tires for a few winters (when the car was new) adn with rear wheel drive, they worked perfectly and were very safe. Never any issues.

JMHO on tires and looks. Will all their rims soak up the tire noise as I have read? If so, that's a great thing.
