  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am getting ready to purchase the GV80 and would appreciate inputs from new owners regarding problems experienced with the vehicle. Thanks.

Small rattle from passenger side seatbelt panel in certain road frequency vibrations. To be honest have not investigated yet to see if is the panel or something else. Other than that 1,600 miles so far and no problems.

If it helps,, i noticed turbo lag, a miniature glove box, lack of bass in the stereo, lack of a middle rear seat, crappy gas mileage, lack of cup holders, no seat massager as advertised, no spare tire, poorly designed rear cargo system, the round crystal ball thingy doesn't work as anticipated. Otherwise, I am happy with the car.

Did you notice any of these problems before buying? For example, did that middle rear seat suddenly disappear when you left the dealer’s lot? I’ve heard about dealer’s dirty tricks.

Thanks for the rundown! What kind of mileage are you getting? Which model do you have?

I average around 13.5mpg with the 3.5TT Prestige but I am sure I drive harder than most, and I am still having fun experimenting with the power. Bought the car November 25th, and have about 1300 miles.

Thanks for your info. That's a little scary; roughly half of EPA. When you say "short trip", can you tell me how many miles?

I don't drive much, a mile at a time, stop and go.

I've had mine for about 400 miles at this point and haven't driven on the highway yet.

I agree with the above to some extent. The glove box is too small and there is very little other storage cubby space in the car. Rear storage room behind the 2nd row is a joke (gotta keep my Sienna) and while my Advanced model does appear to have a spare it doesn't look very easy to get out. I'm getting 13-14 mpg on high test but i haven't experienced the awful turbo lag I used to have on my older BMWs.

Finally, besides the aggravation of reversing the infotainment control placement from my previous G90, I find that you need sticky fingers to not slip on the much too recessed infotainment rotary control. Obviously I'll get used to it but what would it have hurt to have made it a 1/4 inch higher so you could actually grab it.

Noticed most of these when I test drove a 3.5T prestige - excluding the gas mileage of course

Tester did have a driver massage function - it was meh...
Also, I'm pretty sure the 2nd row I saw had a middle seat.
Crystal ball thingy is slippery, as someone else noted. The handwriting worked pretty well for the most part, no complaints there.

UI seems complex, could take some time to get used to

Anyone else notice the demon eyes staring back from the 3d cluster? Most video reviews say it's not visible but I see it clearly in person.

while we're talking about annoying things, let me add one more item. External fan noise.

When you are standing outside the car and the electric radiator fan is running (apparently all the time down here in FL) it is VERY noisy. I don't mean noticeable. I mean annoyingly LOUD. Sounds like one of those crappy European cars from back in the 60's. My G90 Ultimate used to sound like a subdued V8 sitting there waiting to roll. This sounds like a washing machine full of marbles finely tuned to blow air on the radiator.

The good news is that the instant you get in the car and shut the door you hear nothing. I mean deadly quiet nothing! Very quiet car.

I have never noticed it. I will double check. When does yours come on?

>>I have never noticed it. I will double check. When does yours come on?

Remember, I've only had the car for a week and I'm in Florida. Seems like I start the engine and every time i get out of the car after that with the engine running the fan is on. Is there some time without it before then? Perhaps , but I must still be inside the car.

I live in Fl. I have no idea what fan noise you are talking about.

Seriously? If my dealer had another GV80 I'd go and check it out but they don't.

Does anyone else out there in GV80 land with a vehicle hear the loud radiator fan noise when standing in front of the car or am I losing it?

While the engine is running, correct? I will check again.

I was standing outside of my car while a video was being done of it the other day for 2-1/2 hours. It was idling most of that time and I never heard any fan noises at all. The car was very quiet. I'm also in Florida.

No fan noise while mine is running. Take yours in...

OK, just got back from the dealer where we started another GV80 and brought it up to temperature. My GV80 had considerably louder radiator fan noise. In fact you could hardly hear the fan on the other GV80 so sjohnston may be correct. I have an appointment next Tuesday for them to check it out. I'll let you know.
