Has anyone else experienced creaky doors seals on the front doors in cold weather? It’s definitely not luxurious feeling or sounding upon door closure.

Seems to happen below zero. Today was -10 Celsius / 14 Fahrenheit.

Application of a silicone lubricant specifically for door seals would likely cure this. It's one of those maintenance items that should be done once a year before freezing weather sets in.

Never had to do this on any vehicle I have owned. I figure it has to do with the tapered door edge, thinner material. As it sounds like more of an internal noise, where do you recommend to add the silicon spray?

I had assumed this might be the rubber seal where the door meets the frame siticking due to ice. I would follow the directions on the silicone spray, but would probably recommend spraying onto a cloth or sponge and using that to spread a thin coating over the entire rubber surface.

Most manufacturers don't put this in the maintenance schedules, but it's beneficial to do on any car. The rubber weatherstripping on the doors, you just wipe on silicone lube with a towel, then let it soak in for a bit and wipe off any residue.

I'm not sure if the issue you're having is caused by that. But doing that every year will keep the rubber in good condition (soft and flexible). Over time the rubber turns brittle and hardens, which reduces wind, noise, and thermal insulation (and if your car is really old, they can leak water). But the degradation is very gradual so you don't notice the slowly increasing levels of wind noise and outside noise.

Curious if anyone has noticed this on their GV80. The small panels just behind the front wheels are coming loose. I was able to get one side to “pop” back in place but the clip on the other is broke. Haven’t contacted dealer yet so I will let you know after speaking with them.
Looking at the photo, the top left clip is failing and the panel is pulling away from the vehicle. Sorry but I did not get a pic of the part before I got it to go back in place. But it was sticking out away from the vehicle about 3/8”.

I am getting ready to purchase the GV80 and would appreciate inputs from new owners regarding problems experienced with the vehicle. Thanks.

We have had our 2.5 litre GV80 for 16 months now and absolutely not one issue for a thing. Perfect vehicle. Only issue might be thatI was told that when I enter the USA I have no US warranty and must pay the dealer and claim back to Canada. Pretty useless warranty . Somebody should call Genesis USA to see if they get the same story. Genesis Canada says it’s North American warranty but of course nobody calls you back to confirm they talked to the USA

Mine just developed this as well. I recently took it in because the chrome trim around the front grill developed a bubble. Now this.

I had one on the left side, technician replaced the clip on the spot, took 2 minutes. Not a big issue. Hasn’t popped off in over 4 months of a lot of driving

Be prepared to wait. Mine has been at dealer 30 days...and they have not been able to locate a driveshaft.

There is a product called Gummi Pflege that is specifically for this purpose. I’ve had many BMW’s and without applying this a couple times per year the seals would creak relentlessly. Link below.

AT-205 reseal is another option to fix the problem. Just use paper towel to apply.
