  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Running boards look great but I would only have something like that installed by the dealer for warranty purposes. Dealers will find any alterations to your car a problem if not done by them

I like the the fixed running boards. Brought the pics to my dealer and they had no idea. Parts mgr said he would research it and get back to me. Been 2 weeks now. Do you happen to have the parts number? Thanks

Dealership in Elizabethtown KY says fixed running boards will cost $2,600 installed. I asked if he got the electric running board mixed up with the fixed running boards. Said he didn't know because the accessory book did not have an pictures. Are you kidding?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Nice, Mine came with them on it as a $600 option from the factory.

Bought the Sidesteps through the dealership. Be aware that I noticed that the price varies slightly between different dealers. I think retail is about $700 and wholesale is about $560 and takes about 2 business days to receive. I can get you wholesale prices if you want to pick up 45 minutes north of Los Angeles. My mechanic friend charges $250 for installation if anyone is interested.

Where is 45 minutes North of LA. I live in Indio.

You might want to check with your dealer if you get them installed aftermarket. Might void Warranty. I brought my Genesis to a Dealer just for a service that was due and a guy was in an argument about his Hyundai Pallasade. He was handicapped and did something to his car. They told him they wouldn’t cover anything on his car as he voided the Warranty
Not sure how that ended but it wasn’t pretty. Dealers can find many excuses not to cover something

I'm sure calling a US dealer one could have them shipped to you. I called a Korean dealer for my KDM All-weather floor mats. The shipping was a little breathtaking but they are a much better product than the US versions.

The OEM boards do look fantastic :)

Hi there, and than you so much for your kind suggestion and the pic of the stunning GV80 with these lovely side steps 👌
Really appreciate it and I'll try find a moment to contact a US dealer.
Much appreciated

I purchased a set of OEM Running Boards from the local "Genesis" dealer and now they are loose and rattle as I hit bumps. Dealer said they were installed 6 months ago and they are no longer responsible. I have a call into Genesis.com.

Thanks I shall be mindful of that!
Shame as all else I've looked into sounds pretty positive TBH

I am sure it's the dealership. They can't even do a simple oil change. I now travel 50+ miles to another dealership for any work.

Should have installed them yourself, this way you know they are done right and no issues thereafter. Plus the dealer wanted $700+ - what a joke.

The install was straight forward and the instructions were accurate; took about 1.5 hrs. per side with no modifications needed. Just needed to remove a trim piece inside the door but that was replaced by a trim piece on the boards. I had the boards dropped shipped to my home and I purchased an add'l hardware kit just in case something was missing - which nothing was so I just returned the hardware...

Got any pictures of the before and after of that trim piece?

So, I do not have a pic of before and after on my GV80 - just after. But this is what I'm referring to:

Lower inside trim that is removed [it's held on via plastic clips] and ---->

---> is replaced by a trim piece that is part of the board assembly. This is so you can access the factory mount points for the boards [original trim removal], install some of the hardware that holds the boards; thus covering the mounts again and retain the door seal between the new trim piece and the boards.

At 1st I thought it was a little too much black plastic as the other trim piece is matched to the vehicle color, but this only shows when the door is open so I quickly got over that. I may get that the lower B-pillar body stainless steel cover you see in the 1st photo, just to beauty that area up if it bothers me again.

Nice. That all makes sense now. Thanks!
