  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2023 GV80 Prestige 20. I have been to the dealership several times and had my tires balanced four times in the last 3 months. The ride feels like the vehicle jumps/jolts when driving down the road. I hit a bump and the vehicle sways and jumps vs. hitting the bump and recovering. You feel the jump/jolt when you are going 40mph or higher. Also, when you change from comfort mode to sport mode you don’t feel a change in the suspension. The passenger seat head rest vibrates a lot. I know you will have some vibration but it is excessive.
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated! I am so tired of being nauseated after getting out of my vehicle.

I would suggest asking the dealership to let you test drive another GV80 to see if the sensation you're experiencing is replicated in the other car. If it is, then there's probably nothing to be done. If it's not, there's something wrong with your vehicle.

I ag that there may be something wrong with your car. We have a 3.5 Prestige with 22” tires and don’t notice any of the things that you mention.

I have a new 2023 GV80 Prestige 3.5 and I agree it doesn't feel well planted. I'm not experiencing what you are talking about, but I wouldn't say it glides over rough pavement as you might expect.

we have had our 22 prestige 3.5 for over 1 year now & it doesnt vibrate at all. the ride is stiff with 22's & hard seats but not bad. i have noticed it fishtails a little at hwy speeds

I did drive another GV80 and the ride was much smoother. I also have a friend that has a 2023 GV80 prestige. I drove his and he drove mine. He immediately noticed the ride and said that his GV80 rode better even though he has 22 inch tires.

mabey a bent rim?

One thought, but probably too obvious a solution. Has anyone checked the air pressure in those tires?

Wheel hop always makes me think sway bar end links.

I have similar issues with my 2022 GV80 Advanced! Dealer claims to have not found any issues either, but I know something is amiss. May reach out to Genesis Corporate and/or concierge to get further remedies.

Road force balance all four tires and wheels, even tire pressured and it should be smooth as a babies butt.

Some of this sounds like the suspension shipping blocks are still installed... assuming the GV80 ships with them, I honestly have no idea if it does.

I have the same problem. Machine 2021 diesel 3.0. I'm from Russia.

I have this same exact type of thing in my 23 prestige matte vehicle

I thought I was going crazy until I read this

I have a 2021 GV80 and the suspension is as you described. It is a very turbulent drive and I'm disappointed to hear it hasn't been fixed.

Ok glossing over there's definitely some suspension dampening issues going on. Maybe they had a bad spring or shock shipment and didn't catch they were too stiff. I have a brand new GV80 Prestige I bought in Houston and drove back to Louisiana. I have the 22" wheels and tires also and it drove and rode amazingly and I10 through all that road construction is horrible. 80-90-100mph keeping pace with other vehicles and I didn't notice anything to sketch me out. One time I had to corner hard and thought it might skip but it stuck and turned beautifully. Might have a lemon and an attorney will be your friend.

Coming from a GL63 AMG Mercedes while short on power it was more compliant ride wise but not as sporty of course 580hp.

Definitely experiencing the same thing as the OP. The suspension setup as is causes an unstable sway on small bumps at 30mph or greater. It also feels as if the car is rocking and rolling at times which I can tolerate but I have briefly felt that tinge of motion sickness the OP talks about. It does feel like wheel hop and is pretty unsettling especially if that small bump is on a curve with speed causing the whole car to shimmy at times. The only consistent thing I've found is that it's way more noticeable if it hits a bump or manhole with one front wheel vs something like a change in road height or surface where both wheels hit simultaneously.
