  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Suspension

I have a 2023 GV80 Prestige 20. I have been to the dealership several times and had my tires balanced four times in the last 3 months. The ride feels like the vehicle jumps/jolts when driving down the road. I hit a bump and the vehicle sways and jumps vs. hitting the bump and recovering. You feel the jump/jolt when you are going 40mph or higher. Also, when you change from comfort mode to sport mode you don’t feel a change in the suspension. The passenger seat head rest vibrates a lot. I know you will have some vibration but it is excessive.
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated! I am so tired of being nauseated after getting out of my vehicle.
Hi I recently purchased a 2023 GV80 Prestige and I’m having the exact same issues as you posted about. It’s fine going through town but once I start going a bit faster the back end jumps when hitting bumps, is an uneasy feeling. I’ve had it in and nobody can find anything wrong with it and they said they didn’t notice the hopping. I was wondering if you ever found out what was wrong. And my passenger side headrest also rattles, almost like it’s the same car.

You can add me to this list. 23 GV80 2.5 Prestige. It handles just fine and is great on hard turns. But when I hit a hole at 35 MPH or above it's like the rear looses control for a split second and then corrects. It actually can be scary depending on the hole and the angle of approach. One thing that has helped was lowering my tire pressure. I am now running 32 Front and 33 Rear cold. Remember, the 2.5 is lighter and no 3rd seat. And lowering the pressure sure improved comfort and did not affect fuel economy. Tire wear is just fine.
12K on it now.

You can add me to this too! 2023 GV80 2.5 Prestige.
I'm a car guy and I can't figure it out. Dealer is no help either.
Over 30MPH going over a pothole or other bump in the road it just "jerks" quickly in the rear suspension. Especially when you go over it with only one side. Usually the left rear causes it.
It rides and handles great 95% of the time but when this happens it is a concern.
I'm thinking a bad shock or sway bar.
Other than that I love the vehicle. Getting over 30MPG on HWY using ECO mode.

I have a new 2023 GV80 Prestige 3.5 and I agree it doesn't feel well planted. I'm not experiencing what you are talking about, but I wouldn't say it glides over rough pavement as you might expect.
My complaint with Genesis is that it puts the same basic tires (Primacy) on its performance vehicles as it does on it regular vehicles. My car, with the Primacy tires, didn't feel planted and sometimes almost felt like they were losing grip. My solution, which should have been that of Genesis, was to replace the Primacy tires with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S HL tires. Now the car feels totally planted.

Agreed, I recently changed to a wider tire for the stance and look(275/40/22) and it decreased that wheel hop issue tremendously.

we have had our 22 prestige 3.5 for over 1 year now & it doesnt vibrate at all. the ride is stiff with 22's & hard seats but not bad. i have noticed it fishtails a little at hwy speeds
Agree, on a 24 Prestige the bigger rim with the low profile tires makes the ride much rougher. I recently drove a 25' Advanced with 20" for a week and the ride was night and day for me.

Add me to this list. 2023 GV80 2.5 Prestige. Almost feels like the suspension shipping blocks are still in, but no one has found anything. So frustrating! I’m wondering if you found a solution to your problem.
