  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Figured this was worth sharing- even without speaking Korean, the commentator is uh "expressive" enough to where you can understand the gist of what's being shown.

Oh! I mean I knew there was some kind of resemblance to the Bentayga, but didn’t realized to what extent, but I have to say I prefer the GV80 interior over the Bentayga. Pretty much prefer everything about the GV80, for me the Bentayga doesn’t cut it

the Bentayga doesn’t cut it
Agreed. The Bentayga sits on the same FWD platform as the Touareg and Audi Q8, and the proportions are quite bloated as a result. It really does look like an Audi Q8 wearing a Bentley Continental bodykit. Same with the Urus.

The GV80 is remarkably more handsome, as with most other RWD-based SUVs such as the Aviator.

Better explain than me, exactly, one critical thing I have with Audi, is the proportion of their cars. The MLB platform is RWD base, but because of the Quattro set up, their cars look like FWD base. Kudos to Genesis for providing us with real RWD base cars, so much so my X5 lease is ending in November, I am really hoping for a GV80 sport

I once wrote to Bill Ford and received a call from somebody in the executive office asking if my opposition to front wheel drive was mainly based on appearance. I told him that before his call, I'd not really considered the appearance problems, as there are so many functional problems with front wheel drive (and front drive based all wheel drive has all of the same problems, with almost zero, or zero, cost savings over a rear-wheel drive based design with all wheel drive). It is noteworthy that Ford has seen the light and made the new Explorer and Aviator rear wheel drive based designs. As big and bloated as the front drive Explorer is, the footwell space was tiny, completely inadequate for this 6' 1" guy.

The MLB platform is RWD base
Nope. It's FWD-based, and in Europe the lowest-spec versions of their vehicles like the A6 (which also uses the MLB platform) are offered with FWD. In fact, with the new "Quattro Ultra", Audi has basically turned their entire lineup into FWD-based Haldex-type AWD systems. To my knowledge the only RWD-based Audi is the R8, which is based on a Lamborghini platform.

I really like this RWD-exclusive mindset that Genesis has. Even the Japanese are moving away from this like Lexus and Infiniti as they seem more interested in pumping out FWD-based crossovers with awkward proportions as their RWD lineup ages into obscurity with no one buying. Everytime I see that monstrous front overhang on the Lexus RX, I always question how people can be moved by such a design.

I think the GV80 might be the best-looking crossover to come out of Asia since the Infiniti FX of yore.

I'm in agreement with you on the looks. This car, inside and out is just stunning. I really want to see the frosted paint colors as I've been ready to wrap any CPO SUV I'd have purchased from Mercedes or Jag. I just love the different look of it. This car seems to have it all. I have a Jag XFS and love the acceleration. I was thinking that I need to have an SUV do at least 5.5 0-60, but I'm probably fine with a big slower as long as the torque is there. I wonder how each of the engines in the US will stack up as this car is very very heavy.

Another side-by-side comparison, this time with the X5. Unlike the Bentayga, this is one that I can see a lot of people cross-shopping with on this forum.

Thanks for the info. Jesus! That explains the ugly front overhang on pretty much all Audi’s, along with the Bentayga and Touareg

Lexus seriously needs to invest on a new RWD platform, like you mentioned, everytime I see the RX, I can’t never unsee that ugly front overhang

My only thing about the Genesis, love the design, proportion, but the 3rd row headroom is a joke, they should have done it a few inches taller

I love Bentley. Can't afford one, but have driven them and love them. That said, this posted video is amazing. I actually like the Genesis a lot more than the Bentley. The grill has grown on me. I've seen what looks like two different looking grills, but that's probably just the light. One looked almost mesh/black chrome and the other looked not as shiny and less 3D.

Is there any place that show the 12 color options that may/may not be offered?

That interior is the finest I've personally seen in any car on the market right now that's mass produced.

^ build it...

Note that when you get to the external colors...there are 2 tabs. One has the 3 matte colors.

Thanks. I can't wait to see it in person. I love the matterhorn White and the Lima Red. I wonder which interiors and options the US will get. The one thing I liked about the G80 Sport was that there were zero options. You just bought the car with all the goodies for a very fair cost. I"m hoping they stick with that as I do think it will also help resale costs later on.

GV80 idk maybe cause its a new suv, the others look dated like we seen before nothing new.

"Being new" certainly didn't help the Cadillac XT6 ;)

To even think that rebadged Chevy Traverse can compare to the GV80 is a joke.

LEt's see what the materials feel like in person. I was at the TX State fair and saw the TOTL Enclave ... I really liked the dimensions for a near full size SUV. It looks really nice, but it lacks so many of the nice features that Geneis and other luxury SUV's offer. Massage seats and full Napa leather wraps are winners for ME. I also feel the GM one's are underpowered for their costs. Again, it's all subjective.

Quite. And like I posted elsewhere, I've seen nothing in these speculative posts and photos so far that would entice me to replace my F Pace with one.

My XFS goes in for service tomorrow and I'll have the new F Pace to play with for the day. I love my Jag and I love the F Pace also, but the seats aren't as comfortable for me as the Mercedes GLE massage ones. The SVR's seats are more comfortable, but I no longer need a car to break 5 sec 0-60, lol.... That's a freaking beast of an SUV.

The GV80 seems like a much more luxurious car. The Jags are all driving machines the way BMW was years ago when I started buying CPO Bimmers over new cars. Genesis had better steering or equal to the german's my last go round.

F Pace has nothing on the GV80 IMO. Its interior is fugly. Exterior...meh. Other than the crazy fast one ($80k+)...I will pass every single day.

AGREE! jags end up becoming money pits.

Well, almost three years on mine and not a dime. Five year warranty, then it's time for a new one. Actually, except for collector/show cars, I've never kept one beyond three years...
