  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Wondering if any ladies and gents have had this issue. My hands free calling suddenly decided to not work yesterday. What I mean is this. When using the hands free I would say “call name”, then the Equus ladies voice prompts me to say a specific name. When I say a specific name she was unable to recognize any name I vocalized in my contact list? Odd??? I tried this several times and all the Equus lady would say is “Sorry, I am having difficulty understanding you, please hang up and use the help feature). I must admit, I got pretty frustrated w/her since I was driving and trying to place a call! Update…I went back to the car this morning and the same issue was occurred. So, I decided to reboot both the smartphone, and re-boot the Bluetooth pairing, then update my contact list again. The good news is the reboot appears to have worked. The bad news is that I have a feeling this will likely occur again in the future. It’s a simple fix, but you will need to pull the car off the road to safely turn everything off and reboot. Kinda frustrating and defeats the purpose of hands free calling, but somewhat understandable given technological glitches. So, am I the only one that has experienced this? Surely not and I’m curious if there’s a better way of doing this (i.e. avoiding the re-boot.)

The voice recognition in my 2013 Genesis R-Spec has always worked well.

If I owned an Equus Ultimate, I'd drive it straight to the dealer if that ever happened to me. That's not anything that you should have to live with in that car - IMHO.

Bluetooth is not a perfect system, guys. Bluetooth connects your car with your phone and both ends of that connection can have a problem at times. A one time problem is not a good reason to pound the counter at the service desk.

I would rate the voice recognition of names as poor with about 80% error rate. I have been using the console selector wheel to select the person I wish to call instead. (After getting tired of hanging up the incorrectly recognized names)
