  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone installed Hankook tires on their car? How do you like them?

I put them on end of last year. Main reason, local tire shop said they were very good and a few hundred bucks cheaper than Michelin.
Ride is good, quiet, hold air well. If the car sits a few days I sometimes notice a little flat spotting for a mile or so.

I had them as OEM on a Sonata and they were OK there also. I'd do it again.

Depends on the Hankook tire version. Hankook make various of tire options for many applications and performance levels. You have to be specific to what version of Hankook tires you are looking into. The stock all-season Hankook tires on many early Genesis models were crap(not much traction and performance) and were replaced with better performing Michelin all-season tires. However, Hankook does make some decent all season performance tires called the Ventus noble S1.

I have some Hankook DynaPro AT2 on my stock Cadillac Escalade 17in wheels and those tire are the best allseason tire aside from Michelin tires for an SUV or truck that handles icy roads and loose dirt with ease. I wished they made those tires in a 275/45-22 size for my aftermarket wheels. So Hankook does make some good tires and some crappy tires depending on what you buy.

Don’t risk it go Michelin. I bought rims got some other tires for my 2022 3.3t G70. Nope no good compared to the Michelins. I have the ones that come on the Tesla 3 now Michelin primacy MxM4 Buy Michelin Primacy MXM4 Tires | Michelin
What is the risk? Most in the US are made in the same plant as Michelin. They were a part owner at one time.

When I had the G70 3.3 Sport, I’d put Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 XL 255/35ZR-19 on the rear and 225/40ZR-19 up front. All four were performance summer tires and they were perfect to me. No road noise, excellent stopping distance and way more grip in the corners than the Michelins that were standard on the car. I’d only got 1 year of summer driving out of them as I’d traded the G70 in for the GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige. I still have two brand new tires from that car just sitting in the basement.

Korean mfg has come a long way. It is as true for Hyundai/Kia/Genesis as it is for Hankook/Kumho. My latest two sets of tire purchases were both Kumho, but I'd have no problem considering Hankook if they have a model I happen to like.

Not every model of every mfr is of good value. And most often OEM tire of the same make and model aren't exactly the same as the aftermarket version.

To me, even if a particular tire isn't quite as good as a "name-brand" tire, it is still worth considering. I'd rather buy a $150 tire that has 90% of the performance of a $300 tire. Best performing tire is a brand new one that hasn't heat-cycled, hardened, oxidized, and dry-rotted. If I run 3 sets of the $150 tire instead of 2 sets of the $300 tire, I'd be running on fresher rubber on average and be safer overall. With less money spent.
