  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hankooks now a safety recall.

Still waiting for replacement of the recall on the Ultimate, its been 6 weeks!
They did mention I would get Conti's and when i called this week said that they are currently waiting on Hyundai Canada. Did anyone else's recall take this long?

Had a set of Conti's on the 2012 RSpec (not sure which ones came with the car) and the flat spotting was bad but dispersed after driving for 5 mins. Agree with the taking clients for a ride comment.

Probably out of stock as I know when they ordered mine it was the same week. Look at it this way, you get to put miles on the Hankooks which are great tires by the way.

Agree, don't mind plonking on some more KM's on the tires.

Has anyone noticed the ride going a little soft after 14,000km? Tire Pressure set at 34 PSI when cold and noticing the ride being not as stiff anymore, as when i first got the car.

Might be due for an alignment, when the tires are replaced.

Thoughts?

Ater 2 summers of use on the Hankooks they were quite worn on the outsides which translates to running with low pressure. I know my pressure is proper and I do check on a regular basis. Started running 36psi all around as opposed to the recommended 35 after I saw the abnormal wear.

I did have the alignment checked and there was almost nothing to be adjusted so in my case this was not the issue.

So i stopped by discount tire over the weekend and they will give me $149 per tire in credits for any tire that i choose. I asked them about the Pirelli P Zero all season plus but they told me that Pirelli is no longer making them. My second choice is Michelin Pilot Sport A/S which is cheaper than the Pirelli ($155 vs $173).

So my question is, has anybody installed a plus one wider (255/45/18) tires on their Genesis? I think the car/wheel would look slightly better but im wondering if they will rub when turnning.

I kinda assumed when you bought a tire in a certain size they would all be the same. Boy was I wrong. That being said I seriously doubt they would rub as there is plenty of room left. See this. http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=18614&page=2

I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, but 19" V8 version. I have had this tire on multiple cars and have been happy with them every time.

Just got notification yesterday that my rebate application for the Visa gift card got approved for "buying" the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires. Now it'll probably still take a month for them to mail it to me but still...

Not a bad deal, getting the better Continental tires for free PLUS giving me a $70 gift card in the process. Thanks Hankook!

I have a 2016 Genesis Sedan 3.8; just installed Continental ExtremeContact DSW06's, love them! Grip, grip, grip! The question I have is, what PSI are all of you following? We know the Genesis recommended inflation but these tires have a max PSI of 51 and I read a forum on another site stating they followed the car manufacturers' recommendation(different car) and these particular tires are wearing on the edges showing under inflation. I just spent $1000 bucks on these tires with Discount Tire and they said Hyundai's recommend is what they follow. I'd like to hear thoughts on this as I would like to get the best wear out of this rubber.
