  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My son-in-law is coming west for a visit and wants to bring his clubs in a hard travel case. I realize that not all cases are the same size, so our results might vary.

Has anyone been able to fit a hard golf bag case in their Gen 1 trunk?? Extra points if you know how long your case is.

Thanks, John

Can't answer that for a hard case golf bag, but let me tell ya. I am sure you have noticed, but that Trunk can fit all kinds of things! With that being said, I still can't believe we don't have a 60/40 fold down on the back seat. I mean my cheap ass neon did that.

I have seen some hard travel cases as long as 55" (55"x16"x16"), but most are in the 49-52" range, and should therefor fit into the Gen1 trunk.

My clubs are one inch longer than standard and still easily fit in my Gen1 trunk, when in my staff bag.

I hope that helps, and enjoy your rounds.

Hard Callaway case fits no problem just have to take the driver out of the bag before putting into the trunk.

Taking about a hard case here, not sure how removing the driver would help.

At any rate, the case measured 51" and it did fit with a bit of manipulation.

With respect to the comment about no fold-down seats, I had the same question/complaint when I bought my 2012 (didn't even ask for my 2015). Was advised that fold-down seats would have affected body rigidity (without the heavier cross structure). Made sense to me...and I haven't needed them anyway!

Trunk is very large. I can carry my bike in the trunk, with the wheels off, along with two extra wheels back there....In fact, before I bought my Genesis, the Q50 failed the "bike test"....(that salesman was very sad)
