  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Need some help, need on the forum. Just bought my G70 a couple of weeks ago. I'm trying to hardwire my R7 in and I followed an old post following the instructions for a 2018 Stinger. It does not seem to work. I tapped into the black (ground) and the brown (ignition) and no power. Per the older post the pin selection was pin 6 - brown, pin 8 - black. No power. Thoughts?

Should be pin 1 (power) and pin 8 (ground), at least for 2018 that was the case.

Thanks. Do you remember the wire color for power?
Sorry, I don't remember with enough certainty to really say. Here's how the connector pins are numbered.

Thanks. I'm going to get a voltage meter and see if I can figure it out. Based on this image it can't be pin 1, there is nothing in there. Everything I read said pin 6 but that did not work either. Hopefully I can figure it out with a voltage meter. I appreciate the help.

Are you looking at this as from the front of the connector or the back? (Do you have pins 1 and 5 crossed?)
I think the view I gave is from the mating surface of the connector on the mirror itself, so it would be from the wire side on the car harness connector, not its mating surface.

just use a fuse tap in the fuse panel.

I connected to the wire in pin 1 and pin 8 (ground). I'm not getting power to the radar, when I try to turn it on the "SOS" feature starts up. Pin 1 must have something to do with that. Guess I'm taking it to a shop, thanks for the help!

Okay, I guess the pinout changed sometime between 2018 and 2022. That's not surprising, really.
