  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

.....so I have a 2009 4.6 V8 and with this Artic freeze we just experienced, it must of messed up my headunit ( I'm getting no sound at all ) .......this is my 2nd headunit since I bought this car back in 2008 and my question is , has anyone replaced their headunit with an aftermarket headunit with Android auto, something like this.......... FOR 2009-2014 HYUNDAI GENESIS SEDAN ANDROID 13 CARPLAY CAR RADIO STEREO GPS NAVI | eBay

Or this

And if so have you had any issues after the install with the headunit working with the genesis......thanks in advance

So as I'm in my car today I realize that I'll be giving up alot of options that are worked thru the headunit and it will render the center round control knob useless along with the screen showing the temp or the blower on feet or windows......so it's either replace with a headunit giving me Android auto, maps, bluetooth etc and give up all the stock funtions controlled off of the stock headunit or I have to keep the stock headunit and maybe disconnect the speaker connection from the rear of the stock headunit and run it off of a Bluetooth DSP maybe.......have to map this out

It may be time to shop for a new/newer Genesis, or other vehicle. Your ‘09 is 15 + years old. This wouldn’t be your last repair. Do you really want to sink $$ in it?

Here’s another, thought. I own a ‘12 Genesis that is in outstanding condition. It’s immaculate and everything works as it should. See specs in my profile. I could be talked into letting it go. It has a transferable warranty that ends in August. I’m thinking about advertising it here in the group for sale. I’m in Midlothian, VA in the western Richmond suburbs.

.....thanks for the offer and your right but I'm holding onto this car for 2 more years ( if it allows me to ) not having a car note or any payment at all for a car is a beautiful thing, once i let this car go that will be it for me for cars......i have my Polaris Slingshot & Harley Road Glide , that's all I need or my wifes car lmao

Not to interrupt a thread, but… Hey, PMCErnie, I see you're in Richmond… So am I! (2013, 3.8 with Premium & Tech, and dressed in Satin Pearl White and Cashmere). I've only ever seen one "classic" Cabernet Red Genesis on the local roads, and wonder if it might be yours. Cheers!

Could be! It makes a weekday trek from Woodlake to west Henrico. What area are you in?

I live down near Forest Hill Park, but work out on Patterson at Pump Rd. (good landmark = Dunkin' D.) My job sometimes sees me heading off all over, from Henrico to Varina to Ashland, etc.

My Genesis was a sentimental purchase, and holds a special place. (My other "semi-daily" is a 2019 MINI Cooper—for the fun of rowing gears.) I ordered a set of wings for the trunk and steering wheel from KDM, but still have the "Handshake H" (haven't updated yet). Like yours mine also has mud guards and all-weather floor and cargo mats… And enjoy seeing your list of mods. A keen and classy assortment!

My Son is the current driver of our ‘12 Genesis and you may have seen him somewhere along Patterson Avenue. He works not far from the Ucrops store.

Thanks, my favorite mod was the dead pedal extender. For some crazy reason the position of the stock one was too far away from my left foot. I’ve never had that problem with any car before.
