I am seeing a few more Genesis on the road as of late. Seems popularity, at least where I live, is picking up.

Yep,agree, I'm in Athens GA and see the following from time to time; a black v8, a silver v8, a red v6 and a silver v6. None of the ones I see have been rebadged. Mine though is rebadged.

Just happened at the store, today.

As I was coming out, saw a young couple (mid 20's) walking towards me... with the car between us. The guy was visibly lusting and ogling the car... when I mentioned "Its a Hyundai".

The guy laughed and didn't believe me ... had to show him the fine print on the driver's window revealing the Flying H logo and the name Hyundai on the security system warning label. As the guy stood there with his mouth open... told him to google it when he gets home.

Not until I was "tasked" to start looking to replace the wife's 98 Avalon did I check the internet to be "educated" on today's luxury cars which was filled with positive reviews, head to head comparisons, awards for the Genesis, and tapped the resource of the online forums to get the feedback from the drivers themselves.

It is I who was ignorant of the Genesis up until the the beginning of this year... not at the beginning of the Genesis generation in 2007/2008. Never paid attention to the early commercials warning us (the public) of the re-emergence of the Hyundai line. Tried to find reason to cross it off my list a few times... but couldn't due to the overwhelming pros over the cons of this vehicle. Then had to persuade the Mrs... because I wasn't going to shell out this kind of money for a car she wouldn't approve of.

My own words bit myself in the backside... told her "If you don't like the Genesis... I'm keeping it for myself." Well... obviously she did... and the side-effect... wound up looking for another one for myself... because I could not see any other reason to keep looking for a different make or model. The decision on the financial side... decided on the CPO 2009 Technology package (two different dealers)... and paid slightly more than a brand new 2011/2002 would cost... and brought home (2) loaded Genesis'.
