Suddenly stuck, need advice: spend $4.5 on used lower mile engine (45-60k)...or just trade it for a Q50...

Want to swap my 3.8 for a 5.0 however I fully plan on doing that swap myself. If you can complete the task on your own with some help from friends maybe I'd say go for it. If you are gonna pay labor for this. Trading for another car is going to be cheaper in the long run.

Man your last sentence is key (I def appreciate the advice too ). I'd be paying for the labor since it's my daily (have to minimize my downtime)

Not yet. I've got it on the stand. I need to get the parts together. Looking to do a full rebuild now as opposed to just a set of main/rod bearings. May as well fix the oil consumption issue.
