  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been driving the Equus for about half year. Until yesterday, for the first time, I finally saw a black Equus on the road while driving to work. I am in Bay Area, California. Apparently, the people here are favor the German cars and the Japanese cars.

I saw White Equus once, like one under link. It made bigger impression on me than Maybach;] It's very beautiful and dignified.

I see them fairly often, but I work a couple blocks from a Hyundai dealer. I can only assume they are test drivers.

The only one I saw was the one I test drove months ago. But here in Seattle all you see is Prius's (sp) and freaking bicycles. =:/

Saw one on the road a few months before they were on sale... I paced it for a mile or so until it pulled into a gas station about a mile from Hyundai's office park (US headquarters) in Fountain Valley. Gave me a chance to eyeball it from behind and along side the car, never got a good look at the front.

Since then I've seen two or three on the road. I see Genesis sedans almost daily now and coupes about once every 3 or 4 days.

I have seen atleast 6 on the road so far here in the burbs of Philly, Pa. That are impressive and show off their lines well. Not to happy with the chrome wheels but they look good while the car is moving.

Not too many on the road, I think it’s good for the current Equus owners.
Ever since I own this car, I notice more people staring at me, just like a guy sees a pretty girl. I asked myself, am I better look now than before? I find the answer to my question once they signal me to roll down the window and ask “what kind of car is that?
It’s a strange feeling, not again, I have been answering the same question 5 times already for one day. On the other side, I want the attention from the people. Again, it’s like a woman, dress nice to attract people’s attention, but hated it when some stranger stare at them for long time.

True story:
About a month ago I pulled into Dunkin Donuts at 5:15 AM on the way to the train station. A couple of State troopers were outside their cars and I didn't pay any attention to them. As I walked to the door for my coffee, I heard "sir". Then a second, louder "sir"! I looked back and the troopers are walking toward me. "Sir, do you mind if we take a look inside your car"? Deadpan, no smile, no emotion. I did a quick checklist from my youth: drugs? No. Alcohol? No. Remember, this is 5:15 in the morning and all I've done is drive from home to DD, about 4 miles. I'm about to ask if they have a warrant, when one of them says "we've heard about the Equus but have never seen it. Sharp looking car". Whew! So of course I unlocked the doors and let them poke around, ooh and ahh.
A couple of weeks ago I saw the same guys at the same place, inside this time. When I walked in one says "nice ride". I got my coffee, walked over to them and said "ya know, you could've said something about the car first instead of approaching me the way you did. They laughed and said "yeah, we could tell you were about to call your lawyer".
Funny guys.

As for seeing many on the road, I don't expect to. They might sell 3000 this year out of about 12 million. Odds aren't good.

A neighbor in my subdivision has a Silver Equus, in fact, so I see his car quite frequently. I recently passed another Grey Equus (with the KDM hood ornament added, in fact!) a few miles from home, and have seen a couple of Black Equus (Equuuses? Equi?) in the area. It always catches my eye...

I saw a white one in Door County Wisconsin, the Midwest's Cape Cod, about two weeks ago. Illinois plates so someone was on vacation. I thought I would never see one since there are not that many Genesis on the road around here. But I also did see one of those on the same day. Saw the Equus coming from a mile away as it was taking a short cut around Fish Creek.

Not sure if many or any of you live in Canada.

On the west coast in Vancouver, BC, being on the road everyday...I have yet to see a Equus anywhere in Metro Vancouver or Burnaby. My only glimpse was at a dealership.

Saw one parked in my local grocery store this week, in rural north Georgia mountains. Talked to the owner and his wife, said he has been a German flagship guy forever, and this was the best car purchase he has ever made. I mentioned not seeing any up our way, and his wife mentioned she had never seen another one on the road either. They were visiting from Atlanta. Black.... still waiting on 2012 White Equus.... someday soon I guess....

Hi there fellow motorist from BC (Vancouver/Burnaby). You might just see me in mine somewhere in the city. In case you don't, I'm including a photo of driving the 'Going to the Sun' highway in Glacier National Park (MT) on our way back from Winnipeg.

Cheers everyone ... let's keep an eye out for those 'Horses'.

Ditto on That! My wife and I drive the Equus all around Southern CA, and get the same reactions from many. . . especially from the Valets at the casinos and hotels we frequent. We've owned it since Jan 3rd (It was our Christmas Present to both of us.)

Don't see the Equus that often in Manhattan - see a decent amount of Genesis sedans, but today I walked by a parked Equus in a tony neighorhood at the same time as an attractive, well dressed couple - who were wondering what it was.

The woman asked her companion if he knew who made this luxury car and he replied that he didn't, so he walked around to the front and then the rear to check it out and muttered that it was an "Equus" w/ a puzzled look on his face (since it had the KDM badging in the rear).

So far this is my list:

Maybach
Bentley
And the ever popular...what kind of car is that?

Never thought the car would get that many looks and compliments...and neither did i get it for that reason.

Hahaha isn't that the truth!

I've seen two of them in the last year or so: a black one in the next town over, and a white one near my job. The black one looked amazing, but the white one sure was classy.
