  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis GV70
Apparently, Genesis opted to select an HD Radio for their 2023 models that is incompatible with Sirius Travel Link. It relies on HD Radio Data for Fuel, Doppler and Traffic information. Although I receive more than a half dozen HD Radio Stations, I cannot receive any HD Radio Data. Apparently this is true all over the country. This is the only luxury brand I know of that cannot reliably provide traffic and fuel info. Shame on Genesis. They need to fix this problem to provide the promised info.

Never saw it promised. Seems they are not the only ones. I found this:
The fact that GM elected to nix the feature in a number of models may be a bad sign, since consumer adoption of the format is so intrinsically linked to new car purchases, but the overall install base continued to tick up after that decision

It actually is the radio vendor. Yes, Genesis did select the vendor, but they did not build the radio. There are plenty of other Genesis cars that do have Sirus's data and not HD radio data.

Are you suggesting Genesis was unaware of the HD Radio specs they ordered?
Which 2023 Genesis models receive "Sirius Travel Link"

Why even bother with the OE map system? Using Apple Carplay or Android auto is just so much better! Just buy a wireless CP or AA adapter from Amazon and you are good to go.
IMHO
The OE map shows the next turn in the HUD. Always got me to the destination. Tried AA twice but still prefer the built in.

That is correct. If there is a drawback to Android or Apple it would be that feature. It is nice.
The system seems cumbersome, slow and not as responsive to my instructions. Another reason is they use HD radio to get their map traffic and doppler radar. I am in a lot of areas where there is no HD radio. That's another huge drawback. And I'm in San Diego

I’m in LA and I seem to have HD radio most anywhere but that’s just me. Since this is a general discussion I can say I have Sirius TrafficLink in my G90. Nothing cumbersome about the native nav and the fact that I don’t have to take my eyes off the road to see the next turn with HUD makes it invaluable for me. So I hope that answers your question.

Nice!
I had the Sirius XM traffic link in my 2018 G80. Put my 2023 GV runs off of HD radio signals. Where I run into problems is rural areas in the mountains. Awesome, when I drive up to Oregon.
I sure wish my GV80 would work with satellite instead of HD radio
