  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, I was just wondering if any of you know how to replace the HID'S? i was able to get in through the top of the headlight and i found where it goes, but it seems very hard to work with with that little space. Am i supposed to take the whole headlight assembly off first? and if i were to do that do i have to take off the bumper to take off the headlights? I thought it was maybe just the 3 screws on the top, but i removed those and the headlight wouldn't budge.

I've googled and I cannot find anything else on the subject. lol

Thanks for your help!

You will have to remove the headlights to properly remove the HID bulbs due to space. When I changed my amber DRL bulbs I had to remove the airboxes. Even with the air-boxes removed the opening for the HID bulbs are blocked by the chassis frame.

However, anything is possible; but with my large hands I would need to remove the headlight units to remove the HID bulbs. The headlight units have bolts under the front bumper cover, so the front bumper cover has to be removed to access them.

HWA instructions call for removing the whole front bumper cover and then removing the housings. Not that hard, just be careful with sensor harness.
