Headlight Condensation

My 2023 G70 I purchased new developed very heavy condensation in both headlamps at about the same time. Service Advisor at Rick Case Genesis here in Florida admitted they've had issues with ''some of our model's". Upon inspection they found a tiny, tiny scratch in the right headlamp that I have no doubt was there from the get-go. Told me the warranty would absolutely not cover that headlamp due to that scratch. So....this scratch is the cause of condensation in the R headlamp...so then buddy what is the cause of the L headlamp? Hummm? Anyone else have issues with this?

I have a 2017 g90 with the same basic issue. I was getting heavy condensation/ water in both headlights in 2022. The dealership said they replaced both headlights and i thought everything was all good. Well it's 2 years later, and both headlights have condensation again. Even worse, the right headlights auto adjusting/ moving beam thing is not working properly (I'm assuming because of damage from the water).

Dealership now says they will replace the moisture absorbing thing in each headlight. And see how it goes from there. They know the auto adjusting/ moving beam thing isn't working and say that warranty is over and that genesis will not cover it.

BUT, i purchased the factory genesis extended warranty! Which i was told is supposed to cover the car for another 3 years of bumper to bumper.

After discussing it with them for a while, they said they will try to "make a request" for warranty replacement of the right one. But told me not to hold my breath.

Anything else i can do??

My 22 had same issue. Took months of fighting to get one replaced then a service bulletin was issued. Other replaced with no questions asked.
Just make sure you have no cracks. They will void unless you can demonstrate the cracks were the result of the two headlight mounting bolts were over torqued which seems to be the problem.

Big shout out to everyone who posted here about heavy condensation in their headlight assembly. I recently purchased a GV70 2023….and it had heavy condensation/water in the driver’s side headlight assembly. This forum gave me the knowledge I needed to be my own advocate. Originally I was told that the condensation was NORMAL, by the manager of service at open road Hyundai in Richmond/ Vancouver BC Canada. I was 1/2 expecting this response after reading this forum…..I chose to call GENESIS CORPORATE CANADA and they were more than helpful. They contacted the dealership and spoke to the shop foreman, BRYCE (great guy! Completely agreed with me that the assembly needed replacing) My new headlight assembly will be replaced this week. … if you’re having issues…CALL CORPORATE! Thank you to everyone who had brought this issue to light so that GENESIS can take responsibility for the defect. I’m also sorry to hear of the poor treatment some of you have had. Maybe now is the time to call CORPORATE again and see what they can do for you.

I've noticed lately with the temps being colder, 30° F and lower, that I'll get light condensation in both headlight assemblies after driving short trips, 30 minutes or less. After the GV70 sits in the garage overnight, the condensation is gone. Is this normal or a sign that it'll get worse with time?

pretty normal, the headlights when on should dry up the condensation. Both headlights have a moisture pack installed at the rear of the housing. Have your dealer check them.
In any event pay attention to them, its a common problem

I noticed fog in my headlight on my '23 gv70 back in May and called the dealership. I was told to wait until my next service and they would assess/replace the headlight. The service was last week and when I took the car in. For the first time in 4 months, there was no fog and also some sizable "rock chips" had appeared, according to the tech. I was told that they would not honor the warranty and replace the headlight because of the damage, even though I had photos from May where there was no damage. Upon cleaning the bugs off of the car, I noticed that the "rock chips" were actually cracks originating from inside at stress points. There is no damage to the paint near the "chips", as you can see and are all on the edge of the plastic and clear breaks leading back into the lamp housing. I am going to take further steps to see if I can get them to replace under warranty. At this point, the car has had the gv70's problematic locking rear diff and transfer case problems, so here's hoping this is the last of the known issues that I encounter.

Did you change the rear diff fluid? A lot of people did that and it fixed that problem. Did they honor the warranty?

Take a bunch of close up pictures and contact corporate to start a claim. If you have cracks in four places on each lense leading into the housing you have stress cracks as a result of over torquing the fasteners. I thought they sorted that!
