  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I keep my climate control set in automatic. Does anyone else have the issue with the blower starting up immediately after starting the Genesis on a cold day (engine sitting overnight) and blowing cold air before the engine warms up? Most cars have a sensor that prevents the blower from running at high speeds until the engine warms up when it is cold outside.

The only solution I have is to manually adjust the blower until the car warms up and then put it back in automatic.

We are in TX, so we do not have extreme cold. In addition, my car is kept in the garage which is warmer than outside on a cold night.

In addition to letting me know if you have this problem, please let me know the model year of your Genesis.

My last 8 cars (2 Genesis) had auto climate control. None did that. Definitely never had that even at 10 below. Could be a bad sensor or similar.

Which model years Genesis did you have?

Mine was doing this and I discovered it was the automatic defroster. When I turned that setting off it stopped. It is a setting in the climate control screen menu Ithink. The few times I need the defroster I just turn it on myself.

Thank you. That may be the issue. I will check it when I get my car back.

I just noticed this in the 2018 today its pretty cold out so right after car starts it goes full blast.

Coldest I've had with mine so far is 25 degrees.A'auto defrost is on too. Blower does not come on until the water temperature is coming up but I don't know the temperature, of course. I assume you have it set to Auto on the control panel.

Yup, start the car fans come on slow then full pretty much.

On a cold start mine starts off with a very low fan setting then gradually increases as the car heats up. Sometimes I hit the defrost button which takes it off auto and the fan speed increases immediately. It works the same as my previous 3 Genny's.
