  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When 1st pressing either the steering wheel or seat. It always defaults to the maximum (3 on the seat, 2 on the steering wheel). I find this annoying as I always adjust back it down to the minimum values. Is there a way to default start on minimum value?

Opinions vary, I never saw a reason to have anything but maximum. Don't know of any way to change defaults but I'd want that 2 on the steering wheel to be 3. When it gets below zero, 4 would be better.

No there is no way to default them to lower settings on their start up. I use the GCS app and I have profiles on the Engine Start Settings with these so you can set the seat and steering wheel heat setting to whichever if you use a profile in app to start the car, along with runtime. Otherwise if you manually turn them on you just have to cycle through the settings.

I love the steering wheel warm but the seats in my ride burn me on low quickly and I turn it off after about 5 minutes!

I'm just happy to have a heated steering wheel again. By far the thing I missed most when I had my RDX. I did wonder the same thing as you Bicster. Usually things start at low and then go to high but its a quick learning curve and I'm knocking down the seat and wheel about 10 minutes into my drive once everything gets toasty.

No such thing as it works Too Good. I like instant heat. Can’t come fast enough when it’s bitter out.

What really burns my ass is a fire about 2 feet high.

It kind of bothers me that it's backwards as well but like others I use the app to start my car in the winter and set it how I want it anyway. Heated seats mess with my guts so I end up turning them off after a few minutes anyway.

I guess a lot of vehicles have the heated seats go from max to min nowadays, my mom's Jeep does this as well.

So far every car I had with heated got real hot real fast.

My GM cars did too. I want that seat a warm as it can be when the temperature is around zero.

All my current vehicles start off at maximum heat (or cooled) when pressed, however the GV70 is the only vehicle that requires me to change which button I press to decrease the setting. That's my only small complaint, having to press the heated button then change to the cooled button to decrease to a less heated setting. In my other vehicles you press the same button and the settings decrease and cycle through. Small complaint about first world problems.

I just wish it would stay on the last setting when restarting the car... My Audi would do that.

And I’m not crazy about using the touch screen for the heated. Audi’s push button is easy to locate and set. A quick double tap and it’s not on high.

Every winter here hits -40 or lower so we are connoisseurs of heated seats and steering wheels. ;) The maximum temperature of the seats really is too hot - after only a minute or two. I almost always turn it down to the lowest or middle setting as soon as I get in. Strangely, sometimes when I start it remotely, it does remember my last setting and it is only on the lowest setting when I get in, but I have no idea how that happens or how to set that on purpose!

The heated steering wheel isn't hot enough for me...my GMC Sierra is better. And the metal pieces are real cold! But it's better than nothing.

My first impression when introduced to a heated steering wheel was I need a heated toilet seat next.

My wife rode in the passenger seat for almost two hours the other night with her heated seat on high and a jacket draped over her like a blanket and was very content. During the same drive I had my seat on the lowest heat setting for about 30 minutes then turned it off. We are all different and all want different levels of warmth. I'm sure Genesis set the levels for the heated seats with everyone in mind, the hottest setting hopefully warm enough for those people who are always cold and the lowest setting good for people who just want a little warmth added. Enginnners understand these products aren't for one persons preference, the engineers are designing products with settings so everyone can be comfortable. Which is why we all love the multiple zone temperature settings. I would never set AC to 65 degrees or the heat to 90, but I'm sure there are people here that have used those settings in their GV70 and why those settings need to exist.

We had an '19 A-Spec that did not have this as an option. I actually bought my wife a heated steering wheel (with the red stitching) for for her birthday and installed it myself. Was one of the best items I did to that car. Got real toasty too....make this car's (referring to the Genesis) seem like nothing. I think I found the wheel at an on-line Acura dealer and got it for way cheaper than typically seen (I think I only paid under $300)

Only issue I had with the RDX is that the heated seats would not turn on with the remote app. Seems crazy...but that's why your turning the car on...to get the seats warm. For the record...steering wheel would turn on with the app.Toasty Hands.jpg

Agree - most annoying, and as stated, FWP.
