If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Was rather chilly today up here in Canada so I decided to try the heated steering wheel for the first time. Wow, really nice, warms up extremely fast and gets very hot. Nice touch, thanks Hyundai. :):)

Thought it would be like a rear defroster where it defaults to off upon shutdown/startup of the engine. Nope, remains on until you shut her down. Thought this was more a gadget than anything else but I am going to have a hard time doing without in the future if the next one does not have this awesome feature.

My non-Canada R-Spec does not have a heated steering wheel! That is an unfair conspiratorial situation if I ever saw one.

Did not realize the US Rspec did not have the feature. Normally the US gets all the good stuff. For once we get something. :D

The US does get all the good stuff, AKA warmer weather (MN excepted).

There are few weeks here in CT every winter when I would have welcomed such a feature.

Oh well... next one, then.

I have loved the heated steering wheel on my BMW and several Audi models. Unfortunately, the car I like the most doesn't offer it.

We (in the USA) talk about how cold Minnesota is and it's still south of southern Canada.

We're factory filled with 0W-20 blood here in Minnesota. Alcohol is an optional, factory-approved additive, especially if ice fishing is involved.

Actually it isn't in a lot of cases. Minneapolis (where I live) is at the same latitude as Montreal. Northern Minnesota is much further North than the major cities of Canada. Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver.

Also since Minnesota is further inland, it is a heck of lot colder than those major cities of Canada.

I have to throw in my 2 cents:) I heard from someone on here (Canada) that last month in Canada was below 0 F. Yup, I'll take my 80 degrees in March on that note. MN IMO is really only cold 3 months out of the year, Dec, Jan, Feb.

Summer tires only for me!!

I wonder if it would be possible to install the heated steering wheel from a Canadian model on a U.S. car. Is the heater switch on the steering wheel or the dash?

You must be kidding right? Another one of those who think we live in igloos all year round and use snowshoes to get to work. :D Almost all major CDN cites are almost on the border with the US. For comparison purposes I took Plattsburg, NY to compare temps to MN. Plattsburg by the way is about 15 mins from the CDN border and about 35 mins south of Montreal. As you can see we fair a little better than you. ;)http://www.weather.com/weather/wxcl...ld2=plattsburgh, NY&clocid1=USMN0503&clocid2=

Most of the central northern plaines in the US fair much worse than we ever do in terms of frigid weather.

As for the heated steering wheel, the switch is located on the left side of the steering column. I would take a picture but I don't feel like shovelling past the 8' snow drift at my door in -40º temps however my sled dogs will die from starvation if I don't so I have no choice and will snap a shot for you while I am there. :p I have to assume the switch location is most likely on all cars except maybe for a blank covering the hole.

Actually no, I don't believe that it's cold all year round. I just enjoyed hearing a member mention how cold it was last month, and I was outside on a patio having a cocktail wearing sandles.:p As for the month of April so far it's normal and no 80's yet!
