  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know for sure if the 2010 Genesis has heated windshield washer fluid? The brochure mentions a "Windshield Wiper De-icer" and a "Heated windshield wiper park".

It has been cold here lately, 10 - 21 degrees, and my washer is forever frozen, even with -45 degree fluid.

The fluid is not heated. There is a heating element built into bottom of windshield that deices the wiper area of windshield when the defrost is on.

Anyone know if this applies to a 2009??

I do not think the 2009 has the lower heater element- I do not recall seeing such when windshield was replaced. I may be wrong.

I think you are correct. I have an '09 and my wipers were frozen into a solid ice block.
Had to bang it pretty hard to make it loose. This was after using the defroster for a full day.

If your washer fluid is freezing then it must be diluted with regular water. Do you run straight water in the summer and just top up with winter fluid?

We regularly get -20degC around here and I have never had a problem with my washer system even with -40deg fluid.

Thanks for all the replies. I could have sworn the sales person told me it was heated when I was shopping the car.

I use the same fluid year round, -45 degree washer fluid. My hygrometer shows it good to -41.

To activate the heating element, do I just turn on the front defroster?

edit .......... the rear defroster activates the wiper heating element according to the manual.
